14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi MY angel,

I have really missed you today, my thoughts and wishes where with you all day. I have had bad anxiety and IBS too today, i know how bad it is especially when having to go away from a toilet.

Oh my angel, i am glad you are home and safe, i always worry with you driving such long distances.

Karen you are my best friend you will always and forever have my kindness and support.

I am feeling a little less anxious knowing you are ok.

Oh Ok, please be careful my angel, i do worry about you driving, i do hope their appointment does not make them too emotional.

Today has been quiet, i have spent the day at my computer, my stomach is in knots and i seem to have really bad anxiety so i thought taking it easy was the best thing.

It has not rainned today, i have the car in for pink slip, so it should be ready soon, i will go down and pick it up, more anxiety.

So sorry Karen, not much to report, i am watching the lawn grow by the day, if it gets dry enough i might have to mow.

Re: 14th year house bound

Just got home thank goodness. I am overwhelmed and exhausted.

My treating team rang my mum and told her that if she thinks I'm deteriorating any further to ring an ambulance.

I'm sure you can guess how well my mum did being told that.

Let's just say I'm not her favorite person at the moment.

Enjoy your dinner j

I am so glad you are home and safe.

Well your mother is going to have to grow a heart and try to help you instead of putting her head in the sand, i have never seen someone so unhelpful, she sounds like a very nasty lady.

Karen, please be kind to yourself, you are my favourite person Karen, please remember that, i am your best friend too, i will always support you and never judge you.

Dinner was good fish and salad.

I hope you manage to calm down, have a nice long hot shower, allow the day to wash down the drain, hope to speak to you more tonight.

Take care my angel, be safe.

Hi My angel,

Well how can they say you will never get over it, maybe over time the thoughts and feelings may become less consuming?

Karen the professionals are just going on what is in text books and their own personal experiances, the study of the mind is still a long way from being complete, let alone the troubled mind, new advances in psychology and medications may offer some releafe in the future.

Karen, i know how hard life has bee nfor you, 24 years is a long time, you can't expect to get over it in just 2, it will take a long time to work through the horrendus things he did to you, and to get away from abusive relationships, the time is now to re-educate yourself to now allow abuse and to live a life you want, you have a beautiful home, two lovely daughters, what more could you want. things may not get better, but you can make you own little "paradise" and just enjoy the small things.

I know i am damaged goods to and always will be, i have accepted i will always suffer from SH and SI, my mum is teaching me to just enjoy the small things to make life that little more easy to cope with.

Hi @Jacques and @hiddenite

Unfortunately, I couldn't let that post go up because I was concerned that it might be triggering for members to see.

I've checked in with @hiddenite via email to see if she's ok. It is horrible what her treatment said to her. It makes me upset.

I hope you're ok @hiddenite...
