14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi Jacques

Another day in the car.... snowing already.....

Its beautiful to watch shame it has to be so cold.
I feel so trapped and isolated in the car. But I don't belong in a world that is so cruel and unkind.

One of the dad's at school drop off this morning called me a stuck up snob and a bitch. All because I couldn't say good morning to him. He is a very big man and it really scared me.

Still shaking hard to breathe chest pains and wondering why I bother.
It doesn't get ant better.

I hope you managed to clean the shed. Stay warm my friend.
Karen

Hi @hiddenite My Angel,

Oh Karen my thoughts are with you, did you take a blanketto keep warm? i fee ltrapped and isolated too, i agree the world is cruel and unkind, but their are some good people like you, me and everyone else on this forum.

I am sorry you had to experiance that, i get the same, people are scared of me, they take my anxiety for agression, if they only knew how scared i was. don't let it get you you my angel, just remember he does not understand us, he has never suffered like we have.

the anxiety will calm, you have to go on for your beautiful girls, and if you can manage to get some help for you PTSD you may find life does get better.

yes i managed to get the shed clean, i could not sleep last night, several panic attacks, woke up this morning 7 am really drowsey, i hope i come good later in the day, i am so over the panic attacks too, they are so draining, Karen i wish i could be their to hold you and tell you "you are ok, you are safe, i will protect you".

Karen try to stay warm if you need to talk today i will be on my computer on and off all day, if you want to talk vent or just have someone to be their, here i am for you.

Stay Warm My Friend

I am really worried for Karen. I wish Karen and Jacques could be together for real, but I am not sure how far apart you are, I guess you live in different states. All I know is you need to change your situation Karen. Difficult I know when you have young children, I have been through it. You need to make a decision now, and Jacques too be the sound of it. Once you make the decision to change your environment, you will be surprised how much your mental health improves. Panic attacks will wear you down. Please both of you, make a definite plan, set a date for your escape and work towards it. Good luck.

Your brave @hopeandsupport

This is an internet service and i was smiling when i read your message. It feels like to me you are mature beyond years..touching your experience and then writing of their internet friendship.

But not actually writing of their frienship but winding in Karen's dillema to write to her she can i individually change.

Great message ....! 🐏🐦🐩🐔🐺🐓🐤🐩🐦🐕

Hi Jacques

you could never do anything wrong you know that.
I have been struggling the past few days.

I know this is not a crisis support site. I just didn't want to say the wrong thing. You know how it is.

You are always in my thoughts and I don't want to burden you with my problems.

it a beautiful sunny day. I am going to walk today
then I have a meeting with the girls psychologist. So lots of driving and the stress of another appointment.

Hope the sky is blue where you are
take care

Re: 14th year house bound

Hey J

well im in the car trying to stay calm before I go in and see the girls psychologist.

I had two appointments yesterday.

One with my treating team from the public hospital. That went for 1.5 hours. I was completely gutted. Sweating profusely, shaking all over breathing difficult and bad chest pains to top it off stuttering.
I hate anxiety.
They wanted me back in the public mhu but I refused.

My appointment after that was with my psychiatrist she came in especially to see me I am a mess.

she has changed my medication. She would have preferred I had gone private but agrees I cannot support the girls from hospital.
They have weekly psychologist appointment and paedatrician.

So to do the right thing by me I am not doing the right thing by the girls.

they come first I don't.

There is no win win.

hope you are ok and the work in the garden is keeping you busy.

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh I forgot to mention that mum is being increasingly cruel.
she told me that if I went back into hospital I was being selfish and just sitting there putting on more weight.
I wish I knew how to protect myself from these hurtful personal attacks. There isn't a day that she doesn't erode my self esteem.
why doesn't she care about me I must be such an awful person. Not to be loved by my mother.

I wish for everything to stop.... peace.

keep digging J.... I bet your muscles are sore by now.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi @hiddenite My Angel,

I am sorry you are struggling, you have had so much on your plate this week i can understand what you are going through.

Karen you do not burden me, i know i have my own problems but i really do not mind listening to you, sometimes just putting the words down can make a real difference. you will not upset me, i am all emotioned out, i am numb to any emotion, so i am here any time to listen, or to give you a pat on the back for the good work you do

The day is so beautiful where i am, i am in the shed putting everything back after spending the week pulling it all apart.

Oh Karen, i know how hard appointments can be, mum speaks for me at all appointments i have because i am unable to, you have done well just going, and for 1.5 hours, it is totally understandable that you had bad anxiety symptoms, i get all those symptoms too, they are very unpleasent.

i am sorry you are in such a tricky prediciment, i understand you need to care for the girls first, but if you are in no mental space to do it, maybe you would be better off getting some care, that way you can care for your family, i know it is a tough dicision and i know the girls come first, i am always here to support you no matter what.

Karen i think it is time you stood up to your mother and tell her that you are not a child anymore and need some respect, if she is not a help she is a hinderence to you and the girls, have you thought about reaching out to a womans refuge for some support and guidance?, you are not a bad person, your mother just has a narrcasitic personallity, my grandmother had it too, whatever my father did was never good enough, in the end he told her to behave or else, and limited contact for a while.

Karen you need somewhere for the girls and you to live, i am sure your mother is having an impact on their self esteem to. please just remember she is the one with the problem, not you, you are an angel to me and to you girls i am sure. this stressful environment is doing you no good, actually it could be makeing your mental state worse.

i know you want everything to stop, i do to, life is difficult and even more so for you and me, but we struggle on, fighting through another day.

My thoughts are with you my friend, hang in their, enjoy the sun and the little things, break the day into hours and focus on the wildlife they don't judge, they are not cruel, they bring us enjoyment.

Big hugs Karen

Jacques
