14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jacques did you have to go out today with your mum.

I'm worried about you. How long until you have to go back to the Dr?

At least you could mention that you haven't been sleeping because of the anxiety. He might be able to give you something to help.

Jacques if your not sleeping it's going to make dealing with the rest of your day so much more difficult.

I am concerned for your safety Jacques. As you have mentioned things are deteriorating for you.

You don't need to go into too much detail. Just say the anxiety is worse and effecting your sleeping.

Hopefull you'll be offered a prn or sleeping tablets. It's worth a try Jacques you can't keep going like this. Please try.

Take care

Karen

Hi My angel,

No need to worry i am here, exhausted, but here. i went to town this afternoon, mum said that we didn't have to go if i was not up to it, but i decided their was no point staying home sleeping so we went, we just sat in the car, had some tea and came home.

I am so physically and emotionally drained, i really don't know how you have been like this for so long, i am at the end of my tether now, and it has only been 4 weeks.

Karen try not to worry about me so much, you know i have to stay here for mum, so i can't go yet, unfortunately, i just have to go on as best i can.

How are you my angel? i know you are tired and exhausted too.

Sorry Karen i am struggling to think straight today. so tired.

Thanks Jacques for letting me know that you are still here even though you are struggling. I'm glad you went out just for a little while.

Yes sleep deprivation is awful, it make everything so much more difficult. The mood swings, just functioning on a basic level is difficult.

That is one reason why they want me back in hospital, they make sure I get some quality sleep and respite.

I hope you feel a bit better after a hot shower.

I'm here for you Jacques, big hugs for you my friend.

Hi Jacques. Lying in my bed watching escape to the country. My best friend is keeping me company:-)

The girls and I just hung out in my room playing games as it was raining.

I know you won't be looking forward to go to sleep tonight Jacques but remember that I am with you holding your hand and when you wake I'll still be with you. I am never going to let go. Trust me....

Re: 14th year house bound

oh what a shame, is it still rainning their, i was really hoping they would have had a fine long weekend to go out and play.

i am frightening ened of sleep, but crave it at the same time because i am so tired, i know it sounds silly, but it is the love hate thing.

good to see you are doing the same, i have in the last 6 months got a new single bed, it is so comfy, it is the first bed i have ever had that me feet don't hang over the end
