14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

my angel, i think that is why we have this bond that we have, because we both suffer the same way. we both see each others strengths and weaknesses.

my angel, this is why i trust you so much, i have learned the hard way never to trust anyone, and i have stood by this philosophy until i met you, i have allowed you in, it scares me, but i trust you totally. i feel so vulnerable doing so, but you understand me so well.

Jacques I'm sorry you are feeling unwell and the other anxiety things going on, I know their is no relief.

But I am with you I'm not going anywhere when things get tough Jacques. Better or worse I will be here to support you Jacques.

I hate being agitated it's such a build up of bad emotions. Do you have a punching bag Jacques? It might help.

Re: 14th year house bound

no i don't have a punching bag, i used to use walking as my way of dealing with it, wut with the IBS i can't do that anymore, SH is my only coping mechanism now. Karen you are such an awesome friend, sorry to tell you all this when you are struggling yourself. i feel really bad, i hope this does not make things worse for you, let me know if it does and i will stop. Gosh we are both a mess aren't we? what are you up to tonight? have the girls managed to get to sleep with all the candy they have consumed today?

Dear @hiddenite the voice that says "I dont want their help" can become strength ... not that I am saying dont reach out ... reach out do what you feel is right for you ... but your continued parenting without support shows a strength.

I know I have strength and then I forget I have it etc ... strength and beauty can be a powerful combination ... hope your sleep is good.

Hi Jacques

Please don't worry about what you tell me, I am here to listen.

I'm not walking anymore either, I can really see the difference to my fitness.

I agree we are both a mess, but we are still fighting even when we don't want to.

I hope you get some gardening done today Jacques.

My thoughts are with you my friend

Take care

Hi My Angel,

Well not a good night or good day for me today, i could not sleep last night and SH 3 times, finally got to sleep at 4am, only to wake up every hour with a panic attack, i felt so terrible this morning i got up, got the paper, had a hot shower and went back to bed, i have only just got up, feeling bad about wasting another day.

Karen i hope you and the girls got a fine day today to get out and enjoy the sunshine, i do hope you are having a good day mentally, we so need to cherrish the good days. their are not many of them.

My thoughts are with you too my friend, sorry i have not been around today. i am so scared of nights now Karen, i know they are filled with terror and they are so long.

Take care, be safe.

Re: 14th year house bound

I'm sorry Jacques your night was so awful. It's terrible being too scared to sleep.

I had night terrors last night too. I have only just woken up. I posted this morning, lay down and I fellasleep till 2.

Yes the nights are long. It sounds like sh for you is not having the same effect so you are having to do it multiple times. I know what that's like. It also causes more panic because it's our only coping tool and it's not as effective. It's such an awful cycle.

I have wasted the day sleeping my mum is angry at me for not looking after the girls.

I didn't mean to fall asleep, I'm just physically and emotionally exhausted.

Thinking of you Jacques

oh my angle,

i am so sorry you are so tired too, it makes daily activities so much more difficult, i have been so exhausted i could barely get the rubish organised.

i am glad you managed some rest, even though you got in trouble, you so needed it. thank you so much for posting this morning, it was so nice of you.

i hope this afternoon is treating you well
