14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Good Morning my angel,

i am just writing to say i am thinking of you and i hope you manage to get all the things done today that you want to get done.

Hey i had a thought, i.e. medication, would it be possible to buy a container from the pharmacy and put the medication you need into it for the day and take the rest of the medication to your new home, that way it is far enough away from you that their is no temptation but you will be able to get the medication you need for the day?

It is just a thought, to stop you having access to so much medication.

Well take care My angel, be safe, take care

Hi Jacques

Well the sun is out the birds are singing I can hear the river flowing.

I finished the mowing, I am exhausted but at least the garden is tidy. The grass grows so quickly this time of year.

I hope you day is going ok Jacques.

How is your breathing and shaking?

I was thinking that maybe you could do the work in the garden while the person next door is out, or at work.

That way you wouldn't risk running in to them.

Just a thought.

I already keep my medication in a pill box.

It's all the extras I have the need to keep with me all the time.

I don't know why I have to do this.

Thanks for the suggestion Jacques but at this point I'm not ready to let them go. I don't understand why.

I feel that I'm doing very strange things and it scares me.

Take care j thinking of you

Karen

Oh my angel, that sounds so beautiful, i am so glad you managed to finish the mowing, oh yes the lawn does grow fast, i have to mow mine every 2 weeks.

I hope you are sitting on the pourch enjoying nature.

Yes, i have been doing a little more painting and getting rid of some old towels.

Breathing is good, but the shaking is still not good, i seem to be in a panic all the time, like something bad is going to happen, i feel i am always looking over my shoulder.

Yes i had the same thought, i usually do, i try to avoid leaving the house when they are home, but yesterday i got a bee in my bonet and decided to trim the hedges even though i knew they would be home, big mistake on my part, he is nice, but i am still scared of him and his mother, from the history between us all.

Karen, it is a psycological thing with needing to keep all the mediacation, i have the need to have hand cleaner with me all the time, it is the OCd or anxiety i am not sure, but it is weird what we need to have to feel safe.

Karen we all do strange things, what is normal to us is strange to others and vice versa, try not to focus on your habbits too much, and try not to compair to others, everyone is unique.

You will let go of the medication when you feel safe and comfortable, give yourself time to heal, time to move on.

Take care my angel

Oh Jacques you always know the right thing to say, thank you....

You do the hand sanitizer thing too I thought it was just me.

I'm. Sorry the shaking is still bothering you, unfortunately I think it's one of those things we need to accept.

Nothing seems to help.

In sure you are getting dinner so I will talk to you later.

Hi Anne I'm sorry that your hands shake too. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop it.

Re: 14th year house bound

am so glad you think i say the right thing, i often worry i am making things worse for you with my comments.

OMG Karen i have wet wipes and hand sanitiser in every room, even the shed, as well as the car!!!!!! i just can't stop washing my hands, it gets worse when i go out.

I know it is something i will have to put up with, it gets annoying though, when i try to do fine intricate work.

Oh my angel, am i that predictable, yes everything has to be done at a certain time, another one of my OCD thing, dinner is always at 5pm on the dot. every day, i can't stand not even a minute over.

i am such a mess hey? maybe one day i can be normal.
