14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Oh Karen, please be careful, being that high up a ladder on your own, I am always worried being on a ladder, I have fallen so many times. Remember not everything has to be done today, their is always tomorrow.

Oh yes we had some trees out the front of my place a few years ago, I had to clean them every 3 months.

My thoughts are with you my friend, please be careful

Dear @hiddenite

@Jacques is right .. being up ladders is tricky ..

We want you to keep checking in if you are doing potentially dangerous things .. I know some 70 year old women who go up and down ladders now ... but I cannot .. be careful.

It is a huge job ... tell people what you are doing before you set off in the morning .. befriend that neighbour.

Just checking in thanks for caring Jacques and Anne.

One side done I've filled a huge garbage bag with leaves.

Now to do the other side which is a lot higher off the ground.

Hope your day is ok.

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh thank you Karen, I was really worried with you being up the ladder, really I worry about you working on the house on your own full stop, it is so easy to slip with a tool or fall when you are renovating, please be careful, and have your phone with you so if you do have an accident you can call someone, @Appleblossom is right, try to befriend the neighbour so you have someone keeping an eye on you.

I am glad you are going to leave the other side if it is too high, wow a whole garbage bag, it is amazing how much can be pulled out of a gutter. I used to get about the same, and another bag from the downpipes.

My day has been quiet, just getting rid of some more junk out of the shed, still low from yesterday, but getting a bit better as the day goes on.

my angel as I said don't push yourself too hard, their is plenty of time to get everything done, their is always tomorrow.

take care my angel

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jacques, I'm struggling and just trying to get through the days. See my psychologist tonight which I'm very nervous about. She's always calm though and it'll probably b ok.
My lil girl is really struggling - not wanting to go to school, not hungry and just generally cranky or teary. My little boy is angry and confused. Acting out things very aggressively. When I try to talk to him he tries to head butt me gah!!! Hopefully time will help.
