14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi @Jacques

im sorry you are feeling so down.

im not walking can't get motivated after being in hospital for a month. And the medication makes me put on weight. So that just makes me more depressed.
The meds make me feel sick , tired , and bloated. I feel like a sleepy beached whale.

I spoke to my parents last night.... didn't go well at all.
they said im just hiding in the car and being lazy.
said that I was acting like a victim.
That I had better get over it......
also that im not good enough to manage renovating a house and that I will fail and mess up my future.

There was lots said but too hurtful to tell you.

well its a new day.....sitting in the car it's very windy but the syn is out. Im going for a walk to see if I can forget how much I hurt.

I hope today is better for you J.
are you still listening to Tara.

thinking of you

Hi @hiddenite My Angel,

I am so sorry i caused you more distress, i should not have told you to speak to your parents, i just thought they might understand. i know how horrible it is to sit in a car beacause you have no home, for 7 years i sat in a car because i had horrible neighbours, i used to ball my eyes out and shake uncontrollably when i had to go back, it was like a prison. luckily for me she moved and i was able to rebuild my life to some degree.

i feel the same wit hmy medication, i didn't sleep well last night and so did not walk this morning, have not walked for 4 days, i find it harder than ever now to gret motivation to do anything, on a downhill slide.

KAren please don't allow people to put you down, i know how much words can hurt, so hear is what i see in you, please remember this when you have a low point. You are an intelligent and strong woman, what you have endured throughout your life, people could not imagine, you are kind and caring to others, i have seen you support others as well as myself on this forum, even when you where struggling yourself, you are an inspiration to me and i am sure many others, you have forgotten your potential but i can see it slowely shine through. you are special to me.

i am glad you are seeing today in a positive light, it is sunny here too but no wind, i am glad you are going for a walk, we both hurt, and struggle but we fight on, please remember you are winning the war. i can see it in you everyday, bit by bit you are getting stronger and stronger.

Yes i am still listening to Tara, thank you for asking, i am still in a bit of a downer, but not as adgitated thank god. i am hoping this mood swing will pass soon.

Take Care my Angel, my thoughts are with you.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hey J

it certainly isn't your fault that I am unlovable. If my parents can't see anything good in me ..... What chance do I have.
It was a discussion I needed to have I had just been putting it off.

I had a phone call from my husband's mum. Blaming me for his death. Telling me if I had only nade him happy he would never had died. See more people with think im unlovable.
She went on to tell me that I deserve all the bad things that have happened to me.

Some days if would be easier just to be in the private mental health unit. At least someone else can be responsible for my safety.
I've had enough.

Jacques I know its difficult for you to see how important you are. Not only for your mum.

I know what its like to feel that things are slipping and to don't have the strength to stop it.

please remember thought you cannot see me I am right here with you fighting for another day when I don't want to. .

I know im really quiet but I'm still with you.

Tomorrow try just a small walk and I'll be with you walk by your side....
take care Jacques
karen.

Re: 14th year house bound

@hiddeniteMy Angel, i am so sorry all those awful things where said to you, you are not unlovable, don't allow the venom of others bring you down, i think your husbands mother may be the reason you husband was so cruel, she sounds like a horrible woman, and you are lucky to have her out of your life now.

i know what you mean about letting others care for you, i have lost all interest in caring for myself, every day is exactly the same, but we need to fight on.

hearing what has been said to you by your parents and mother-in-law, it sounds like you would be much better on your own, they must be really bringing a lot of your mental health issues on, and definatly prolonging your recovery. maybe you should speak to someone other than family about it. i don't think i would be able to cope with all the stress you are going through.

people can be so cruel, Karen i hope that all the horrible things happening to you, that you remember that i think you are fine just the way you are. please don't allow anyone else to tell you different.

my aunt had the same problem with no support, her husband was horrible to her, she used to sit in her car all day, too frightened to go home. she devorced and now she rents her own flat and is so happy. she is her own person with her own place and her own things, no one can tell her what to do.

Karen i am so sorry i can't support you more, i feel your pain, i wish i could just reach out, give you a hug and tell you everything is going to be alright.

i am sorry i can't say more positive things, my mind has gone blank.

Plase take care, and remember you are your own person, not what others make you

Big hugs

Jacques

Hi @hiddenite

The care, concern and support you have shown to others here indicates you are very loveable.

If you feel going to a private mental health unit would be useful, please do so and take advantage of your private health cover.

It sounds like you're around very toxic people. What they say isn't a reflection of who you are - it's a reflection on who they are.

Hi @Jacques

I had to go the shops today to buy materials for my daughters production.
my youngest daughter volunteered me to make the costumes for her class.... I don't know how I get into these things.
They are doing the wizard of oz..
her class are flowers and have to sing and dance.

I have to make 20 flower costumes.

Well I managed to get what I needed at the shops had a huge panic attack and now sitting in the car.
Hard to breathe chest pains and shaking like a leaf.

I'm so glad you went for a walk.

thanks for sharing your story about the animals I wish I was there with you watching. Instead of being stuck in the car
take care
karen

Hi @hiddenite

That is fantastic news. 20 flowers, lol i would love to see that. It is good you have something to occupy you, take your mind off of your troubles.

I know how hard it is to go into shops i always get panic attacks. But i have to go because mum cant.

I wish you could see the animals too, they are great for keeping myself calm.

Big hugs and good luck with the costumes

Re: 14th year house bound

Hey @Jacques

can you imagine the noise of 20 , six year olds. All wearing make up dressed like flowers. Ahhhhh what have I gotten myself into.
All I need now is for my 9 year old to ask for a costume. !!!!!!
