14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi My angel,

I hope you are ok this morning, you made it through another night Karen, please be proud of yourself for fighting.

Please take time off the house and have a day in the car, you need some rest and some time out, i am really worried about you my angel, well i am having a quiet day too, so i should be on here most of the day.

Karen, please never feel like you can speak to me about anything, nothing you say will upset me because i have the same thoughts, maybe i can challenge those thoughts, maybe i can give you a little comfort by just listening. Karen you know you are not fighting alone, i am always here for you, you are my best friend.

Be safe My angel

Jacques

Anne,

Thanks for that background on the name Arlo. Makes me wonder how I had never come across it before.

*Whisper Voice* Shh, keep your voice down, this is Jacques thread and he might hear/read us. Don't want him to get a big head or anything, but of course Jacques is very very liked here - he has such a big heart. Pity his brain won't let him acknowledge that other people like him just for being him. Perhaps over time we can help him get there.

*Normal Voice* Um, well. Yeah. So you like nature huh? *Looks around cautiously to check if Jacques was listening*

Lovely to meet you Anne.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Karen,

I knew you would have said goodbye if you could have. I just assumed you were not well enough. Anyway, I'm letting that go. The important thing is we have all reconnected and safe.

My daughter loved Melbourne and had made some really good friends there. She was upset to leave them, but her 2 besties are here and now they all go to the same high school. She is happy again. My son always wanted to come back, so he is very happy too.

I decided to come off my meds for many reasons. I hate their side effects. If I miss a single dose, that night I have awful nightmares all night, and then I am too dizzy to drive. It takes a few hours after taking the missing dose to stop spinning.

The recommended way to come off these meds is very slowly. Thankfully this slow process is working well for me.

And since I love hugs, anytime you need one, just close your eyes and ask in your head, and I will send you one. The best thing about hugs, is when you give one, you get one back.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jacques

I'm still here just keeping my distance while I'm in such a dark place.

New truly awful thoughts that I can't seem to shake.

I will never tell anyone or I'll get put back in the mhu for sure.

I'm at the house today, not getting too much done so exhausted.

I've made a Dr appointment for today see how it goes.

My youngest has croup again and I've been up all night with her.

Thank you for the picture and telling me the name of the river I'm sure I've driven over that river when heading north

Take care Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen,

Sleep is such an important part of our mental health. I'm sure that being up all night has affected you today.

Tell Hunter I still have a bone to pick with him, and that because you were a good mum looking after your daughter, you deserve to take care of yourself today. I would suggest an early night, perhaps with some camomile tea. Black dogs don't like it when you do something nice for yourself.

Re: 14th year house bound

hi j what a beautiful part of the country you are lucky. Even if you don't think so.

Living near the river, awesome.

Do you go for walks by the river?

How are you today after your outing yesterday?

I'm thinking of you j

Take care

Karen
