14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi Tony

R U Ok I haven't heard from you and I know your struggling too.

The psyche are concerned about the lack of sleep, because I have to get up to the girls because they have night terrors. A usual night I'm up to them about 15 times.

That the other reason they want me back in the mhu, to rest and get some sleep. Don't they understand that a mhu is no place for rest and sleep. Particularly when someone comes in your room every 30 minutes.

Hope things are improving for you Tony

Take care

Karen

Re: 14th year house bound

Sorry to say Karen, but I have not been down to the river since I left high school, stupid huh.

I am ok, I am more worried about you. You sound lower than usual.

Karen maybe you are right, I am so clouded by anger and hatred by the town I live in, I feel so traded, maybe if I had better experiences or someone to share them with it would make a difference.

I so wish you could come and visit, you would like it I think.

Oh Jacques what a shame to miss out seeing such a beautiful river.

I would like nothing more than to go for a walk with you by the river.

Jacques it's time to make new memories. Ones that you can enjoy.

I know I can't manage my own thoughts I shouldn't be telling you what to do

Re: 14th year house bound

Thanks for checking on me Karen.

I am doing very well. Just a couple of rough days, but nothing too awful.

I really don't understand how anyone thinks there is rest and sleep in hospitals.

Do you snuggle with your kids all night long or do you sleep in your own bed?

We went through long periods with my son where spending half the night with him helped us all to get better sleep. He has out grown his sleep issues, but we still get disturbed by the dog barking at the possums on the roof almost every night.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi My angel,

I know, i do miss it, but i am so frightened to go their for fear of seeing someone i know, anywhere in the town i avoid, i can only manage the next town over, and even that is becomming a struggle. I just know too many people.

I so wish we could Karen. i so wish

I know i need to make new memories, i have no memories since high school, before that i remember the good and not so good times, but after that, it is like a void, their is no memories at all, i suppose that comes from looking at the same 4 walls for 14 years, maybe my mind has shut off, because i am not using it.

Karen i often think i am a hipocrite too for telling you to get help, when i am not willing myself, i feel so ashamed trying to get you to reach out for help, and i sit here and do nothing to help myself.

Maybe by us both trying to help each other we might get their.

Hi Jacques

I feel like a hypocrite too, it's certainly a fine line we walk where something so simple can tip us over the edge.

I ended up going Bush today I didn't want to ever be found....

My thin line is getting thinner. It's a scary place to be

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi My angel,

I am so glad you had some time out, i know the feeling, i wish i could go bush without getting scared, i feel so trapped in the house, it is more like a prison for me than a home.

I know Karen, i think the past month you have pushed yourself way past what your limits are, i think your mind and body are screaming out for you to slow down.

Karen i am sending you a virtual hug, i know how scary our minds can get, how just a few lacking chemicals or misfiring brain cells can cause so much distress for us.
