14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

You're right Karen - Jacques is a man of many talents. Just like you (well minus the man part 🙂 ) I was so blown away by your dress making / costume making ability!

Jacques, I'm curious to know if cutting hair and pruning the garden require a similar skill set 😄

Maybe I should just cut my own hair if it's that easy..... My 7 year old offered to cut my hair for me....

Jacques I know you are a perfectionist so I bet it's just right. The garden and hairs cut:-)

OMG that would have been a sight Karen, i am sure she would be good at it, she sounds smart.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, i am getting better, but sometimes i make one side slightly longer than the other, which drives me nuts, but mum shows me how to correct it.

if you have long hair iyou just need to trim a straight line, maybe difficult to do on your own though.

i hope you can manage a hair cut one day Karen, make sure you through in a pedi and manicure, you may as well go all out. remember hwat i said about taking all of the anxiety in one go, that would be the way i would do it.

Oh Jacques there is no way anyone is going near my fingers and toes. If you think it's such a great idea you can go first. If you do so will I:-)

OMG Karen you know i would not be able to do it, i just thought i could encourage you to get the full treatment, i don't think guys can get the pedi and manicure done, not very manly, lol

it is a shame Karen, i would love for you to be treated like a lady for a change, you so deserve it.

I know you could never get it done j but the thought of it did make me smile. Yes men do get that done. I have never been interested in that sort of stuff.

I would rather be working on the house than that stuff.

The girls love to do their nails. They also enjoy getting their hair done with ribbons and lots of pretty clips.

i didn't know that, i thought with the culture in Australia that would be a no-no, good to see men moving on, i have never been to a hair dressers before, i will have to try one day, but i have had no need.

It is good the girls are doing all that girly stuff, i like to see children enjoying their childhood, too many children have it taken away from them too early, i never really had a childhood, i was always treated like an adult, and expected to act like one.

You sound like a real tom-boy Karen, i like a lady who likes to get her hands dirty, you sound so much like my mum, she is not into any of that either, i remember my father bought her some jewlery one time, she didn't talk to him for a week. lol

are you settling down Karen, i know it has been a confusing time for you, being disassociated does not help, are you managing to come back to the present?

I am glad you have a smile on your face Karen, that alone makes me happy

I feel so out of it... The last few days have really effected my mental health.

Nothing feels real like I'm watching myself go through the motions. But it's not really me.

It's really hard to explain. I'm not sure if you ever experienced this j.

Haven't you ever heard of a snag? Sensitive New Age Guy....

Oh yes i feel like that after my sunday outing every week, everything is disconnected from me, like it is a sort of dream, an out of body experiance. yes i know, Hang in their it will pass.

it is just your mind protecting it's self. once the threat is gone, you will start to come good.

I have heard of a beef snag, a chicken snag but not a snag, Sesitive New Age Guy, really...........hmmmm i suppose that is me
