14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Good job Karen!!
I got my hair cut yesterday, and was close to panic the entire time as she cut a bit shorter than I had intended.

Find yourself somewhere quiet, for me that's my car or a bathroom, or home. Take a few deep breaths, then a few more. Focus on your breathing, get it back to normal.

OMG Karen, I can't believe it!!!!, i was literally jumping around the room when i read your message, mum came running in thinking something was wrong, like i had won the lotto or something.

Karen, do you realise what you have done?!!!!! this is a major step in your recovery Karen, i am still in shock, i can't believe it, i bet it was so hard walking in that front door, and yes i do know the feeling, sometimes when i go to town, i get to the point of almost passing out i hold my breath for so long.

I know the anxiety is bad, it is probably really bad, but you know what, the more you go the less the anxiety will have hold of you, OMg saying i am proud of you just does not give justice to what i am feeling, i bet you look beautiful, now you have a haircut to match your wonderful beautiful soul.

Karen, i know deep down you must feel a little proud of yourself for taking such a big step, i know it was not easy, if it where me i would be panicing for hours on whether or not to go. i would actually be pacing around the house.

sorry Karen i can't get the words out quick enough, my mind is racing so fast with this exciting news, i must give you a present for the good work.

Good work Karen!!!!!

Hey Jacques

I had to to the shops and I passed a hair dresser that just walk in no appointment necessary. So I did it and the girl that cut my hair was wearing essential oils. I was so lucky she smelt beautiful.

She didn't seem to mind that I was shaking and not able to talk. She was surprised at how much I had off. It was half way down my back now it is shoulder plenty. I haven't had my hair this short it 20 years.

Mum came home with the girls today. The girls said my hair makes me look younger. So that's good.

Jacques I want to thank you for encouraging me to do it. You such a great help......

The picture hasn't come up yet....

Wow what a day.

Thank you for you support, I cannot believe I did it.

Trying to get the anxiety back under control.

I certainly do need to concentrate on my breathing it's really difficult.

Take care
