14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hey j

You have more than one computer?

I've been having trouble with the new web site the writing is too big for my screen.

That things move about without me touching anything. But you know me j I don't do change or computers.

I am so grateful that the man is gone from the top of the screen. It was so triggering for me. I know.....pretty silly being triggered by a photo of a man.

I also wanted to ask you Jacques when you press to get my details up it has my personal address there. I looked at yours but it doesn't show it. Can anyone see that information or just me. All I did was press on my advitar.

Talking to you Jacques.......

I have to get quotes done because the house needs restumping that needs to happen before anything else.

I just haven't been able to make the phone calls yet.

I don't know how you do it j with the trades people coming to your home.

Apart from the fact that they are men....sorry no offense:-)

Hi KAren,

Yes i have 5 computers, 1 phone, 1 tablet 1 laptop and 3 computers, i usually use 3 at one time, all doing various things.

Yes karen, if it on your tablet just pinch the screen, or put 2 fingers on the screen and move them together, it will shrink the web site.

Yes i know Karen, it is understandable about you being triggered by men after your ordeal with your husband.

No Karen it does not show your address or anything, it shows your personal details to you, because you own the profile, but when i look at it it only tells me that you are online and what time you checked your posts.

i hope this helps

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen you don't need to have contact anymore, just email them, that is what i do, they do the work and leave and then you pay them, you will have next to no contact with them. please give it a try, i am sure their are trads people in your area that have email as a contact.

Karen it is very hard for me to have trads people here, remember my wrist, i passed out because a trades person was here, and my anxiety tonight is through the roof, but i deal with it because i know the end result will be spectacular and the knowledge that when it is done i will not have to have anyone here again.

Karen their are ways now to have tradies to your place without you needing to have contact with them.

Hi Karen,

I just wanted to let you know about this discussion where we are collating all feedback about the new forums. It's not perfect yet - there's still some formatting issues and some 'bugs' so we are asking to post the issues here

If you could post your feedback about the font in there, that would be really helpful - just so we have it all in one place.

I also want to reassure you, it's only you who can see your own details - no one else.

Finally, I just wanted to thank you for your post in this discussion - for standing up for what you believe in by sharing your opinion and bringing this conversation back on track. Also, it's really helpful to know that the content we create is useful.

Wow Jacques and I didn't think men could multitask:-)

5 computers..... no wonder there is no room for you. How do you fit all that in your bedroom!!!!

Thanks but pinching the screen isn't working anymore. It's what I used to do.

The writing keeps moving up and down the page without me touching it. Bit frustrating....but I'm sure they will work out all the glitches.

Yes you always help me j:-)

Wow, i think we have a comedian, did you make a joke karen?

Believe it or not, it is all in one desk, all interconnected, it is hard to explain but my desk is 1.5m long and full with computer equipment, their are calbes everywhere, and 1 27" computer monitor running it all. it is very complex more of a setup for a small business than a home pc, lol

Oh that is no good, i really thought that would work.

Oh yes i have been getting that too, the screen moves when you type a post, i will email sane with that glitch too, thanks for reminding me.

Oh Karen you are doing so well posting around the forum, you have no idea, i am beaming with delight, seeing you get out of your shell, it is so nice to see a big step for you, please keep it up, it does get easier to talk to others. who knows you might make some new friends along the way, just don't forget about little old me

Sorry to bother you Jacques, I have been worried that you told your mum about me. She must think I'm awful for causing you so much distress. I tried so hard but they contacted me a week after it happened and said there was nothing I could do. I felt so helpless not being able to respond to you.I hope she wasn't angry at me for upsetting and hurting you.

Sorry Jacques

Thanks Nik I'm not good with anything to do with computers so I'm glad people are unable to see my personal details.
