Checking In

Checking In

I thought I would start a thread for myself and other members to check in. I thought also needed a thread for myself after being in hospital recently too. Hope its helpful for others too.

I had not so bad today, my anxiety levels are less and feeling a bit more energentic which I think is good.To me that is a good sign. I have start to put my recovery plan in to action from my hospital admission. Tomorrow I think my staffy dog will be needing surgery, she had had another mast cell tumour. I truly feel for her, she has been fighting this cancer for almost four years, she is so strong and courgeous.

This week I have a specialist appointment twice and seeing my other Doctor once this week. I think with me and Kira I am going to have a busy week.

Re: Checking In

I am not sure what to do today. I have been watching the cricket but i have been doing this on my own. I would like to interact but i don't want to leave the house because of family. I will be reading some positive quotes to help.

Re: Checking In

Some days we also need rest days @Everan and tht is okay. Reading positive quotes is a good way to feel a little of that positivity within yourself also.

Why is family holding you back from leaving the house?

Happy to chat to keep you company before the cricket starts again.

Re: Checking In

It's very nice to meet you @Zoe thanks for talking 🙂

I am trying to balance my day with family. I need to go out to practice my interaction. It takes me a long time to get the courage to go outside. I feel stuck when there is a lot going on inside the house with other people doing things and only leave when it's absolutely necessary. It just doesn't feel right but it probably never does.

Re: Checking In

@Everan It takes a lot of courage to go outside of your comfort zone so you are doing well even thinking of going outside. Do you have friends you can visit where you feel more comfortable or a coffee shop you can go to for a little interaction but not too much. I know sometimes sitting on your own somewhere can bring on feelings of isolation as well so not sure if that is your thing or not.

I have two friends which is great. I see them maybe every month we go to see movies together.

It is a great idea @Zoe7. Coffee would be great i just have to work on my social skills.

Re: Checking In

Sounds like a good plan then @Everan and you are working on your social skills in a relaxed setting. Going to a coffee shop you are working with those that serve you but also may have the opportunity for other interactions with people who are also n their own - that becomes a choice though and depends how you feel when you get there. The priority is conversing with those that serve you and that in itself is a big step.
