Hi @utopia,
I have been away for the internet for a few days... but I have just been catching up, reading your thread. It's great that you had an Aha Moment. Make sure you write everything down so as you can discuss it with your psychologist. Emailing him is also good.
It's not surprising that old feelings for you boyfriend would pop up now. I believe it just means that you didn't process them fully when stuff happened. I think depression can stop us getting through things properly. We sort of "side step" our emotions.
A weird thing happened to me at the end of last year. I had been going through such a stressful time- it really was one thing after another and I was exhausted. So many things happened, including my Mum dying and my Dad getting cancer.
Then I took time away from working outside the house. The first time I had really been able to do that in ages and I was finally able to just relax and 'be myself'. Pretty much straight away, all these feelings came up for a guy I had a crush on 12 years ago!! Wow.
Then I remembered that those were the last strong feelings I had before I became severely depressed and my world fell in a heap. I had never processed that crush or those feelings... they had been cut off and had nowhere to go.
I thought that this was a major turning point for me. Being able to 'go back' to that time before my depression hit me and knocked me sideways. It was amazing. It was actually a good experience for me... so different to what happened with you and your boyfriend, I'm sure.
Anyway... the feelings I had for my crush just disappeared gradually, as they would have done if they were not interrupted by depression, all those years ago.
