Hi @utopia, I remember that add - "Gonna Wash that Grey Right out of my hair, with Clairol Loving Care..." (found it on YouTube. Didn't know it was a song in the musical South Pacific, honestly, its like another language trying to interpret the flow of some od these conversations, re scratching head after Kurra's ref to South Pacific, what the heck has shampoo got to do with the Pacific? asked myself - 'till I googled it, Haha. Anyway, communal living is difficult - that pesky man, and Sex in the City, hmm, with you on that one Utopia, don't know what anyone saw in that show.
My last hospital stay it was the men that really frightened me, two of them even had a punch-up in the dinning room, really triggered me, I ran to the toilet, locked the door and cried. Still remember the horriblecsound of fist into flesh, yuk, never heard that before, vlike knuckles bonecstuff 😖 Fortunately they transferred me to stepdown the next morning where it's much quieter. This was public involuntary lockup - not nice but kept me alive.
About your walking group, thats what they'd provably do with me too lol, a tad embarrassing but your fitness will improve quickly and you'll be bumped up with your peers in a week. Fingers crossed. Sounds like you need it, the walking, wear good shoes and Maybe hide under a hat, or hoody lol.
Sorry you're feeling agitated, yet mixed about other feelings you sence rolling around inside, needing prn's They say fear and anger are behind most negative feelings. Some meditations will help you with this in time. Try not to stress too much atm though, early days, new meds and all that.
I think its silly red tape that your psychologist can't visit (or is it distance...). When I was in hospital, 4wks, I didn't get any counselling at all, they said they 'can't afford that' I so needed to talk, and felt like a caged animal with an infectious disease. I think its negligent not to provide daily counselling session in a mental health unit - even if just for 20min. What's wrong with the system!
You said "so I'm in the middle - no longer numbing and self medicating so I don't feel" wow! so proud of you - this is a BIG step - give yourself time.
I love adult colouring therapy - relaxes me, keep doing that one. Makes good cards you know. Hope you can find another picture to colour in. Maybe you could trace one from magazines, draw your own - to match my mood, within reason.
Hope you sleep well tonight 🌷🌿
