Hi @utopia, glad to hear you are still going well and still getting the giggles. To quote a line from a movie - "I'll have what she's having". I wish I'd been given meds that made me giggle when I had depression!
You are making me very envious!
@utopia & @Former-Member, when that nurse said about the new psychiatrist and the Old Bugger being "colleagues" - I think she meant that they have worked together in some capacity. That's usually what it means. I don't want to alarm you! Your new psychiatrist will probably be very careful about saying anything negative about the Old Bugger - even if she, personally doesn't like him or respect him. It's just the way it works in medical circles. Anything she might say about him would have the potential to get back to him, so I doubt she would bag him out (even though he deserves it.)
Psychiatry is such a small field of practice- they would all know each other and many of them would have worked alongside others....word gets around so quickly, too.
I'll bet that your new psychiatrist is very aware of Old Bugger and his incompetence- but working in the private system- probably at hospitals he attends.... it would be impossible for her to publicly criticize him.... that is, if she values her career.
I will just say, that having worked in private hospitals myself, doctors can be very competitive and ruthless. A lot of what goes on is a 'power game'.
I was even surprised the members of the CATT team would denounce the Old Bugger... but then the are in the public system and they wouldn't work with him directly. Same with that professor of psychiatry who is puting in a formal complaint.
Sorry if it seems like I am on a rant. I've spent way too long in hospitals!
@utopia, I would say- go ahead with your complaint. Your new psychiatrist will not say anthing about it, one way or another. It's nothing to do with her, anyway.
