Something’s not right

Not in a good place right now.

Not in a good place right now.

I'm hesitant to post this because others actually have it far worse than I do, but as the subject suggests, I'm doing it tough right now. I feel abandoned by my mental health services. They say they can look after me for one or two nights if I feel really suicidal, but despite the threats, I've never tried all that hard to complete the act and I think they believe I'm just someone looking for attention and being manipulative.

Of course, even if I was feeling like that, they're only going to talk to me, maybe suggest a hot bath with something nice in the water or a good nights rest. The latter is half the problem. My head is just so busy with my own thoughts, racing, racing and with no solution to anything in sight.

I'm having a home visit from my community case manager on Friday and she's already told me it will be the last time I see her. They're going to close my file and she's going on an OS holiday for a month. I feel totally abandoned again!!

I no longer want to get out of bed. What's the point? I'm not eating and have dropped a heap of weight. I didn't have much to spare to begin with, but I don't care. I know to stay well we must eat well, but I'm sick of all this stuff.

Anyway, I really wanted to let you know what's going on in my world and so if you don't see me responding to posts, then it's not you. It's me!

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Thank you Ellie,

At least through you and this site I don't feel alone anymore

Re: Not in a good place right now.

No Tay. You're not alone. There's some wonderful people on here. They battle with their own porblems, yet still manage to find time to support others. It's a great palce to be and I'm so glad I blundered onto this site.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Finally got the report back on my damaged shoulder. My GP rang at 9.40 this morning and woke me, which was a bit embarrassing being in bed at that time of the day. Anyway, he said it's as he expected, that I've cracked the process (a bony protrusion) on the shoulder end of my collar bone. He said a couple of weeks of rest with very light exercise will see it right.

He then went on to say he spoke to my MH team again as he could tell from my visit to him about my shoulder on the 4th, that I was doing it tough mentally. He told them that dropping me is just not good enough as I obviously need ongoing care. I've always found him a very caring man, but this is more than I ever expected. He's really gone in to bat for me and I feel a lot better because I know he's on my side. Finding a good GP can be so difficult, yet I've not only found a caring one, but one who bulk bills and who doesn't keep you waiting more than 5 or 10 minutes tops!

I think I'll You-tube a few early groups and have a little dance near the fire

Hope you are all feeling as well as can be expected, especially with this bleak weather if you're a Victorian.

Kind regards,

Ellie.

Dear @Ellie

That is such wonderful news about your GP. I completely agree - good ones are worth their weight in gold! Please send him a cyber hug or high 5 from me! I'm so pleased for you. You are worth it, and ou deserve to be cared for.

Hope for unexpected kindness endures...

Kindest regards,

Kristin

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Thank you Kristin. Maybe I had that fall for a reason. At least I feel a bit brighter now, but I still have to see what the MH team suggests. They may still shut the books on me.

Ellie.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Dear @Ellie,

Thank you for writing this good good news re : your GP supporting you ... You have written and explained all that's happened ........ You have stuck by what you believe you deserve and spoke to the professional who knows you. Cheers to @Ellie. What an exhausting journey.

It reminds me of how important it is to have an empathetic GP. Not always easy to get.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

That is just excellent news, im so happy to hear that your GP has done that for you and most importantly that you feel supported and somewhere to turn if you need it, regardless of the MH team. Dancing near the fire sounds awesome (but dance gently with that shoulder :D)

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Hey Anne. Hey LJ. Yes, great news indeed. Never got to dancing anywhere. I've had my nose buried in BPD study on the Internet as well as writing letters to State politicians in an attempt to educate them about BPD and the benefits of Dialectic Behaviour Therapy and the need to establish a DBT program in my nearby large rural city so that anyone can afford to go without the need to pay exorbitant fees to private psychiatrists or huge fuel bills, time off work etc, etc. At least that stops me sitting here and pining.

Ellie.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Hi
@Ellie

There's an excellent Paper on bpd on the internet ........its American and its part of all Psychiatry 'ailments .... Ille try and find the four page printout I've got .......
I love what your doing. That people can very easily be misinformed about bpd.
What's dialectic behaviour therapy ?
