Re: Safety

I am just a mess today and i had my hearing to see if i could get off my treatment order and that went ok but they gave me a report from the doctor and it had all this stuff in it about me and my diagnosis and i am really upset about what it said.

Re: Safety

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling upset about things that happened today @Eden1919.

It can be hard to read things in such reports especially when it states things about oursleves.

I wonder if there's something you can do for yourself to help reassure yourself and offer yourself some love and compassion? Can you think of something?

Re: Safety

Hi @Eden1919

What are you torn between?

Perhaps we can help work out the pros and cons?

Re: Safety

@NikNik I am torn between many things. one thing though is which psychiatrist i should go with and the other is more an inner thing. i am not sure if i should even keep getting treatment or not. i think that maybe there is no point maybe i am not sick at all maybe the drug companies are just trying to make money off me i think maybe i need to take some time but i am not so sure that i have an illness anymore and if that is the case i shouldnt be on here.

Re: Safety

I think the main thing is your quality of life @Eden1919

A psychaitrist isn't the only option of treatment - I think you mentioned you see a psychologist too - there's also social workers, community based organisations that can assist.

I feel very strongly that we should each have a say in our own treatment.

I guess my question would be is if you want to stop treatment because you feel your mental health is fine, you're functioning on a day to day basis and you're not suffering or because you're isolating yourself. It has to be for the right reasons.

Re: Safety

@NikNik i want to stop because i think the medications are hurting me and because i think that i am not the real me when i am on medication i think the doctors are trying to control me and stop me from seeing the truth. i dont trust them and what they are doing to me.

I think finding the right supports that you click with an trust is critical.

Supports could be professionals, but could also be friends or family.

Do you have anyone in your life that you feel like you can trust and/or feel connected to?
