What do you do when you arent feeling safe but you dont want to go to the hospital and helplines arent working? Also what do you do when distractions and all of that stuff isnt working either?
Such a brave thing to do and such insight to know what you need and when - very proud of your decision.
Love and hugs...

Re: Safety
Thank you so much @Sans911
I hope everything is okay with you - and hope that hospital is somewhat helpful and a good experience for you.
I can see so much strength in you - too- for realising that you need help and reaching out. It takes a lot of guts.
All the best xx
And also good luck too @Eden1919 everything will work itself out soon enough

Re: Safety
@Former-Member - thanks for your kind words and thoughts. Hospital is never a pleasant experience for me, as I don't really identify or interact with other patients. That's not to say they are worse or I am better, I just struggle with being 'mentally unwell' when for much of my life I've kept my shit together and no one really knew me well enough to see how close I skated to the line of being unwell.
I did try to discharge myself today, but was promptly told my medications regime would also stop. I knew that would dissapoint my GP immensely, so I went home for a few hours instead.
My suicidal thoughts are the reasons I'm staying in hospital primarily, although I have overdosed here before. But I assure the head psychiatrist no ICU visits this time around.
I don't see hospital as being a major change in my recovery, more as road block to divert those suicidal thoughts elsewhere for a few days.
I am sorry that Eden has gone to hospital, and I really hope she gets fair, gentle care and treatment and comes out the better for it.
And you @Former-Member- I know your road is a rough, difficult one. How are things a few days along?

@Zoe7@CheerBear thanks for you lovely, caring thoughts and words.
I'm more concerned with @ Eden1919 right now, and if she sees this, I want her to know she is thought of so often

Re: Safety
Sorry for the disappearance there @Sans911😔 Been doing so awfully myself. Are you out of hospital now? It is never so very pleasant - is it? I usually find it easier communicating with other patients then with staff and that is a HUGE problem of mine. I have selective mutism (you might know) but I would easily be able to communicate in written form to my roommate for example but with staff it just became too overwhelming and I was always held back.
Oh - I am glad there is no ICU needing to be involved this time. I have been in hospital for suicide attempts before. In which has landed me unconscious for long periods of time.
Kinda concerned @Eden1919 hasn't communicated since - but I do suppose that some hospitals don't allow technology... at least the psychiatric wards I have been in. Which all kinda sucks because they you just feel EXTREMELY separated and distanced from the outside world. Although- being an introvert it didn't really bother me except for the fact that it gets so boring.
I am not doing well at all but thanks for caring X

Re: Safety
@Former-Member I have been off the forums pretty much since last week, so need to apologise for your abscence. The forums have been super busy, which is great, but bit too overwhelming for me.
I rarely communicate with anyone when in hospital. I generally keep to myself and occasionally come out for meals and meds. It is hard to be a health professional on the patient side of the fence. And I'm fairly harsh in my judgement of other health professionals, especially if feel they lack empathy, compassion and cars. I am well aware there is a lot to do, including paper work, however, where does the welfare of the patients fit in? I just feel like a whole heap of bother.
I'm still in hospital until tommorow. Tonight they will increase my ad, and don't want me to go home until they've seen no major side effects.
I'm an introvert too, and that's another reason I stay isolated. The noises, TV, nurses talking are all a little over stimulating. So I'm no better right now, I'm barely holding on to life. For what or why I don't know.
I'm sorry to things aren't better for you.
And yes @Eden1919 I think about everyday, and I hope she is well cared for. When I was an involuntary patient some months back, almost everything was taken from my possession. I even had to go to the nurses station to get them to put toothpaste on my toothbrush! Yet I kept a plastic comb in my room. Go figure.
Well, I'm getting sleepy now. Thanks for dropping by to check in and say hi. Take care of yourself
