I'm making a nest because I'm not feeling very ok and I would like to have a place to retreat to while I ride it out. Everything is chaotic all around and inside me almost all of the time, and I need some time out from it. If I make a nest here I can carry it in my pocket and know it's there for me.
In this nest it's very cosy. There's lots of soft pillows and blankets. Some are made with bright colours, mostly greens, pinks and yellows, and some are made in much deeper shades of purples. The nest is egg shaped so it can be climbed into it but still be a hiding out place. There's lots of fairy lights strung around the nest. They're different shapes and some are warm yellow, some are cool white and some are multi-coloured. They can be adjusted to vary the amount and type of light inside. There's also music which can sometimes be heard throughout the whole nest and sometimes it's playing from the headphones that are always kept on the pile of cushions. There's a lava lamp as well, and squishy glitter balls to squeeze and roll in hands. There are an endless supply of soft creatures to hold or sit with. There's always flowers in the corner and this morning they are gerberas standing tall and proud, on a little wooden table. Next to the vase is a teapot, colourful and quirky, with a collection of teacups and mugs.
Right now I am sitting in a pile of cushions very still with my knees to my chest, my head on my knees and my arms wrapped around my legs. There's no music at the moment so it is very quiet. Only a couple of strings of lights are turned on and they're twinkling yellow balls, so it's very dark but there's still some light inside. I have a soft blanket around me. It's peaceful in here.
I have to sit here until I can work out what to do next. I'm surrounded by people but I don't remember feeling so alone. I feel scared of making any move right now because I don't know what the right move is, and I don't trust any direction. I'm hoping that if I can hold out like this for just a little bit longer I will know what to do.
Right now I don't want to talk but I don't want to feel so alone either, so I'm asking for someone to please come and sit quietly next to me until I can move from my ball or I am made to move from it. I don't know when that will be, but I know I can't stay like this forever.
Hi @CheerBear sounds like you have got a huge amount on your plate today. There is nothing wrong with you. Things that we’re once easier to deal with, I struggle big time with now. We have so many other things to deal with, that those smaller things we need to get done now seem huge and almost unachievable. You seem to have been let down by certain people when you need their help with is very disappointing and makes all of this so much harder for yourself.
I hope you can get through all of this today and vent as much as you need too. Hope you have a good day 💖

@outlander ❤
Thanks @Former-Member. It's so frustrating to think of the things that maybe once wouldn't have been so hard. All the bumps in the road feel like mountains now and they don't seem to get easier to climb with time, they seem to get bigger and more tiring.
It's the home stretch with this one now (funny being that it's all about home), but I can't help worrying that it's all going to fall apart and crash and it's this kind of confusing uncertainty that makes that feel like it's a probability rather than a possibility. Then I feel angry as there are enough people involved that it shouldn't be so confusing or difficult or crash-likely, but it is and their involvement seems to make it moreso.
Disappointing, frustrating, scary and stressful. I'm thinking there are a few of us who feel this stuff here.
Hope your day is ok enough. Really tough stuff for you at the moment 💓

Re: I'm in a nest
@CheerBear I understand those mountains, which used to be speed bumps and just keep growing.
I am guessing the frustration of the unknown is super difficult especially since all of this has been going on for a long time now with others involvement hindering rather than helping the process.
All those feelings are big feelings so make sure you have some small self care moments today.
I’ll be ok thanks ❤️❤️

@CheerBear, a big groan at the supposed 'support' you are meant to be getting from these agencies and professional people. If I was in your shoes, I would not rely that the necessary documents have been delivered. I would probably try to organise that myself too, to be on the safe side. I have had a bond loan before and it went through very quickly and easily. I hope the same happens for you.
I know what you mean about things that used to be relatively easy become harder when under stress and anxiety. It's like those emotions freeze our brain sometimes. Remember to take big deep breaths and keep taking one steady step after the other with all this happening this week. I know you can do it, even if fog brain means it might take a bit longer than previously. And then this week will be over, and with it, your bigger housing worries for some time to come.

Oh @CheerBear i so feel for you. As for the easy things, nothing easy in my world, even breathing sometimes. Sending the warmest wishes I can manage and crossed fingers and toes ( yes I can still do that) to you. 💕💕💕💞💞💞

Re: I'm in a nest
Within moments I hit a huge wall and have melted. I asked for some help with some of the questions which are hugely complicated because of our housing situation, and I was told no-one there was able to help me. I'm big time struggling so I'm going to sit in my car and work on breathing until I can think a bit better.
Why does it have to be so hard 😞

Re: I'm in a nest
Sending you a massive sledge hammer for smashing through walls, @CheerBear. This is total rubbish, much harder than it needs to be, and so unfair … but you’ve got this. I’m here (with everyone else) if you need to vent or bounce ideas around. I know you’re doing it alone, but you’re not alone alone. 🦄🌷
