Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Puzzles are a great thing to do I think @Shaz51! What's it of (if you don't mind sharing)? We still have one to do rolled up in the lounge room from the last school holidays 😁 One of the furballs like to do a quick dash and run stealing pieces in her mouth and taking them under the bed, which made our puzzle time tricky! Haha

OOH, waiting impatiently for image @CheerBear I'll let you know when I see it. thanks for your lovely wishes - okay has to be enough for now - took me 3 months to get stable and then that. I can't write here what it's related to because it would be not good for others.

Glad you liked the Changes pattern, he does some amazing work because he can't bear to do repetitive stuff, do have a look at his other blankets too if you haven't already. I think he has a free pattern, or cheaper, every now and then too.

I havent' gotten out to my stash yet, but still thinking it over. Glad you like the idea too. I don't do the joining of granny squares either, mine all end up in cotton as dishcloths!

Y'know what, I'm going to put up a collapsable table in a corner space and start a jigsaw puzzle, that's an excellent idea - I need lots of things to shift my mind right now. Thanks for the idea @Shaz51.

Wonders where the smallest table is - yep I know ... that will suit perfectly too.

Hearing you @Former-Member and if there's anything you think I/we can help with please feel welcome to let us know (not that I think you need it, more that I/we do care). I will definitely look at his patterns thanks! After mandala madness, I don't do repetitive very well which is why I have made lots of smaller things I think. Refreshing page to see finger knitting, and giggling at dishcloths - I don't think Granny squares are my thing either!

hi and welcome @WideWhale320! i do cardmaking as well. no knitting here as i'm abyssimal at it, but might try the finger knitting at some point.
