Craft Corner

Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Looking forward to hearing from you all 🙂

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear for you

i frogged the entire blanket. all of the yarn fitted into a large (empty) heater box-oopsy lol but its not tangled so it works out well. im making a granny stripe in a queen size instead. its alot quicker and alot more mindless when i just need something to do. ive done 3 rows today during my spare time so its going alot quicker already.

Re: Craft Corner

thanks @Maggie it was quite abit of fun to do and used up lots of my half used paints too i made around 10 that day and had them all on portable tables to dry for a few days in the spare bedroom then varnished them. i havent done any art since i made them though but might do some again soon when i can buy some more paints and canvasses.
i found somewhere that sells different shapes like circles and love heart canvasses too so thatll be nice to play around with

Re: Craft Corner

Hi @CheerBear @Maggie , I had a test on the weekend. It didn't go very well. I need to get a brush and something decent to dot with. I did have fun doing it, but, it turned out pretty crappy. 🙂

Re: Craft Corner

@Gazza75 Don’t be discouraged. My firsts were woeful. You can compromise with a few home thingies. A cotton bud. Remove the cotton on one end and you have a good dotter, the other end can be smoothed with a bit of paint, another size. A pencil. The bubbler is a good size, also the led is a small dot. Pins with round ends stuck into the pencil rubber is another size.

Re: Craft Corner

Thanks for the encouragement @Maggie , I'll have to try the pins with the round bit on the end of them. I couldn't find a cotton bud on the weekend, but, I'll track some down now. I did find some victim rocks for future efforts. Have a good day.
