Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

@outlander Yes, I would like to see the pic. I can’t make up my mind if I like it or not.

I think with the right paints etc, it could be quite affective.

@Yerta I found that out the hard way. I have a very small kitchenette. Mess everywhere. Also a small inquisitive dog. Hummm.

@CheerBear @Shaz51 @outlander @Gazza75 @Doglover Hope all your projects are coming along. I'm still doing my hexagon blanket, at the moment I'm just. Doing some hexagon first to add to the blanket, as I used all the other ones up. I found it easier to make a certain number of hexagon first then attach them to the blanket.

@CheerBear i think i have to frog my queen blanket..... i dont know whether to frog 8 rows to correct the mistakes (there are no increases when ive gotten to the end of the rows or maybe i should just frog the whole lot and do pattern thats faster?

👍 for your pour work @Maggie. Super cool! @Yerta love the picture you shared (those colours are beautiful! I'm guessing you're a cat person maybe? If so, me too. And me also with not having any pet fur free painting places at our house!

@Gazza75 have you started any dotting?

@outlander how did you go figuring out what to do with your blanket?

I've been playing with lots of dots and have lost myself in it a lot. I've been feeling very less than average so I am extra appreciating having the calming escape that is dot painting. I'm finding it really helpful at the moment.

i havent been able to find any pics yet @Maggie but if i come across them ill upload one. i think they are on my harddrive somewhere. my computer kept crashing at one point so my harddrive has all pics etc so will have to go searching 😬

your blanket was looking really nice the last time you uploaded a pic @saturnzoon what size are you planning on making it?
