Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Hi @Spookytookims, yes, intervening the last time I did the test was coming down from a a long manic period (extroversion is common in those). I have withdrawn massively since that time, only the last couple of years have been starting to get out and connect more. But I'm testing at 47% introvert at present. Delighted to be the same 'type' as @CheerBear

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Spookytookims, Hi to you too! I haven't read the episodes yet but I have been intrigued by this creative project happening in this thread. How I am is getting tired but in one of those states where I really don't want to go to sleep and know I won't be able to force myself. So letting go and enjoying it. Pretty good day overall, engaging with a few things including a walk and socialising around dinner. How are you this evening, Spooky?

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

now I see a correlation between that and your video making... @Mazarita you process information and present it visually.

There's definitely a lot of mind activity happening when I put together the videos, @Spookytookims. And I can see what you're saying at one angle.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

how is this new one going by the way? Do you now have to put something together for them or do you need another meeting before that starts happening? @Mazarita

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Spookytookims, we're still at the stage of emailing each other back and forth about the details of the project. The deadline is a month from now. I should be able to do my small part of it quicker than that - as soon as I am sent some media material from her end.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

how many people involved in the collaboration on this one @Mazarita?

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Spookytookims, I don't know how many people will be involved in the overall production at her end. My part of it involves me, her and an electronic musician. There will be images coming that I will be animating. I'm not sure where they are sourced from. Will find out when I get them probably. I think I'll only get a real sense of the wholeproject when it's finished and I see it.

@Spookytookims, speaking of which, I just got an email with a google directory full of images and music to download. Looks like it's really getting underway!

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

you must be pretty impressive with what you do... wish I could do that... I'd make a little video of the island characters... my pathetic little clipart pics are pretty dull in comparison to that @Mazarita 😛
