Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: All things personality

Ok good @Former-Member at least you know now and are being monitored. Don't play with it!!, let it try to heal without the pushing and prodding... you know insert the ant stance in here! The other tests are probably more just routine precautionary to cover the doc as much as anything.

I'm going to try to cobble another episode of Tutle Island, lots has happened and it needs written up, so you need to get painting, nothing you can do now except wait and you need distractions, and we want the background 😛

I'm about to head off, you need to destress, I'll be back later. How's that study catch up going?

Re: All things personality

@Former-Member Am going to put something together this afternoon. Actually came into the forums to get the stuff peeps have written in here to hopefully build the story around what has been said, I think if I include things people actually say they are thinking of it will be more fun, well it is for me. If you get what I mean, kind of gives the characters more real because Im using their words and ideas to thread through.

oh thats great you are thinking of doing some art too, inspires me greatly to definitely write another installment cos I'm very much someone who honours deals. 🙂

og one thing, way back when I was your age actually, I worked for a doctor. And anything like that he always called me n if it was a female patient. Sometimes it was cos he needed me to do stuff, other times it was for the comfort of the patient. Think there might have been some legality in it too but patient comfort was the biggest reason. Don't know if your GP is male or female but just thought I's put that in cos you said the nurse and doctor were with you. I worked for an orthopaedic surgeon, (medici-legal) he did court work as well.

Re: All things personality

I'm a little bit special @Spookytookims 😉 All the cool kids toys from when I was younger are worth a fortune now. Shame I didn't keep em.

I've had a really hard day and would love an irl cheer bear to cuddle at the moment. The housing situation I've been stressing about kind of exploded and I was already super blue so it's tipped me over a bit. I managed to stay relatively calm on the phone then called my worker and lost my shit about it. I've packed up the kids and kittens and have taken off for a couple of days to paint. Lucky I have people who will let me change the colours of their walls and help with fish while I do. I need to burn off some anxiety and keep myself going so I don't stay down. I'm teetering on exploding/imploding with pressure and sadness but this should keep me going for a few days until I can sort something out.

Will look forward to TI ep3 whenever it happens and I'll keep pinning between painting and mother bearing so I'm ready to contribute at some stage.
