Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

ROFL! @CheerBear well what about me? I was thinking ok what pigeons were there symbolically in star wars, and how did they relate to the parable.

Re: All things personality

My brain is exploding with ideas for this group gather @Spookytookims. Now I am trying to fit pidgeons and star wars (which I can not, not for a moment understand or watch at the best of times) in it. I'm so confused. I need to retreat back to my magical kingdom.

Ps - I have so much respect for how difficult episodes are to write now too. It's crackers trying to get it all in and honour everyone properly

Re: All things personality

Oh by the way, I had in our group gather part of this story that one of you or phoenix suggests we look through our pockets/bags to see what we might have brought with us. Thought it could be an interesting thing to explore what we may have packed/brought with us (plus I found a hilarious pin about what's in the bag of each MBTIs). Then I realised that would have probably been the first thing you thinkers thought to do. I find writing yours and phoenix_rising's parts the hardest because it looks like lil-caterpillar and I's type have a lot in common. You and I have heaps in common too, just in a totally different way. My pinboard is looking fab!

Re: All things personality

Not really up but saw this and had to chuckle @CheerBear You do realise we were shipwrecked and our boat is in pieces down on the shore and probably offshore in the water right? And that Phoenix was first down checking out the debris? Found some bags and books and all sorts? Exactly where are our bags that we packed that you are wanting us to check through? Lol Did you carry yours when you were fighting for your life after the ship broke up and went down, before/while we were washed ashore? Or did you have a secret boat that you climbed into with your gear before the ship sank?

Re: All things personality

What we could do though, is llist off things we had in our bags and describe our bags, like my backback had a swiss army multitool, which is one of the reasons lil-caterpillar and I went down to search for it. That way @CheerBear we can decide whats worth trying to salvage if we can get to it. i'm already thinking of how to make goggles to dive the wreckage. Just not got to that installment yet.

Goodmorning everyone @Spookytookims @CheerBear

Re: All things personality

Because my bag is full of useless but incredibly meaningful treasures, I definitely had it on me as I would have refused to leave the ship/boat without it, risking my life to make sure my homemade blanket, journal and kitten were safe. But clearly, even with it pointed out blindingly obviously to me (and reading it), practical things like bags and clean water are something that only days later I think "oh yeah that's right, bags and stuff" 😂.

I fail at writing this and at life in general @Spookytookims but I don't mind because it's all very interesting 😉

Back to sleep you. Sweet dreams
