Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

Good morning @outlander. It is 9am where I am and I think it might be 9am where you are too. I hope your appointment goes well this morning. What an awesome opportunity to be able to practice all your relaxation techniques - slow breathing, focusing on staying in the present etc. And in just a little while you will be able to walk out of the appointment telling yourself "I did it! I'm super awesome."

@outlander Yep, I'm in Sydney. I have no problem sharing that, given that there are another five million people who also live in Sydney.

Maybe you can try my experiment of deliberately focusing on relaxing your body, in order to trick your brain into thinking your relaxed and thus making it produce relaxing chemicals rather than stress chemicals such that you actually truly become relaxed. I did it yesterday when I was driving to my scary meeting. When I noticed how tightly I was gripping the steering wheel, I consciously worked at relaxing my grip. And when I was waiting for everyone else to arrive at the meeting (I'm pretty much always early for everything!!!!) I focused on sitting in a relaxed position. It really does work. I think it's a cool trick!

I'll be thinking of you.

Good morning everyone .... I think .... have woken up with a headache this morning ... 😔 .... but just wanted to wish y'all a good day .... 💕

Welcome back @outlander ... 👋 ... good to see you here again so quickly ... ❣. And thanks for letting us all know it's you straight away. I know other people have their reasons for coming back incognito, but this is much easier to move forward with cos we stil have our previous relationships in place .... but like a hermit crab leaving one shell and taking on a new, bigger one maybe .... 🤔

Anyhow, I am walking with you too, and hope you bear up and get yourself through the appointment okay. I think we all know ere is a sense of relief waiting for you in the other side of if - firstly that it's done and dusted, but also to reach a better place beyind it.

Remember to take deep breaths to help calm your nerves .... 💙💕

Sorry all, the threads have run fast in a short time. It might take me most of the day to catch up with everyone's news on the forums, and respond to tags. You'll probably see me coming .... lol ....

I wanted to take a long walk this morning, but have decided to set my sights on the coffee shop, and see how it goes from there. Trying to drink a lot of water in case I am a bit dehydrated. I might have slept wrong too cos my neck is all stiff, and the headache seems to have reduced a bit just by getting up and moving around. Might look at a neck and shoulders massage today if I can fit it in. I'm feeling a lot of built up tension in my muscles ... surprise, surprise .... really should get one of those neck rolly-massagey things .... !

🌷💜
