Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

Thanks @Former-Member. I know I can't say I'm like a snowflake or a time bomb and then spill a big ugly rant and expect anyone to know what to say because that probably seems like a massive minefield right there. I get that and I am sorry if this is minefieldy. I don't think there's much that anyone could say here that I wouldn't take as helpful, unless it was 'get over it' or 'it's not that bad' or 'I don't believe you' but I hope that's not something people here would say.

Things are very tricky, the trickiest they've been for a long time and having somewhere to not have to have that hat on 100% of the time is super helpful, because wearing that hat for everyone else all the time feels a little like suffocation and right now I need to breathe not suffocate.

Today hour by hour. Or minute by minute if I have to. The incorrect information that's lurking around can be worked out and tackled another day. The feeling that I walked into a trap with my MH worker can also be dealt with another day. The whatever the hell damage that is currently happening to my brain and heart and soul can also be worked out another day. This is my psyching myself up to keep it all in a box for when it's safer to open another time.

@CheerBear
Thats it take it minute by minute today and just breathe. Things can wait you dont need to deal with everything today. Keep breaking it down just as you have done.
Sending you more hugs and your still being heard.
And also i doubt anyone on here would say get over it as i think weve all had to deal with those words and know its not that simple ❤❤❤

@CheerBear Does tour phone record? Maybe just for your own peace of mind, if it does you should start recording your exchanges with any of these people. Just to have it. Like if that worker didn't want to put what you requested in his notes, at least you'd have a record of him refusing to and a record of exactly what you asked for. Just for your own self affirmation. So you aren't losing your identity to some pri*ck who is dictating to you what is and isn't on the record.

just a thought.

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

That's a really good idea @Spookytookims. I feel almost paranoid and I don't say that lightly at all. This experience is a very fine example of an unneccessary intensification of a situation that needed diffusing not intensifying. Appearing paranoid won't help me this weekend, but being afraid of that increases it.

Shower o'clock now definitely. Adding keeping caffeine to a reasonable level to my to-do today because it turns on an already turned on brain. I need chamomile tea I think, but I think it tastes like grass and I don't like tasting grass.

Hugs, and bears and hearts ❤️

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

Good morning @CheerBear. I don't plan to be on the forums too much over the next few days. However, I will keep checking here to see how you are travelling. I hate that "the system" has made your muddle so much more muddled. I don't think getting the thing just to be able to give them the thing is such a wise idea. I think telling them you don't have it and you were just venting when you spoke about it, might be the way to go. Whether they will believe you or not, who can say. But gee, SURELY they must realise we all say things we don't mean at times. Surely! Maybe?

I'm still trying to get my head around the idea that this whole saga is because they think you are risk of suicide...but then they are going to call "sometime" over the weekend. If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny. It sounds like something out of an episode of Yes Minister: Quick, quick, the risk is immenent, we must address it...sometime over the weekend. I really can't see how they could possibly schedule you on this basis. I don't know if anyone else has any experience of a situation like this??? As I've said, mine all happen in a whirlwind with police scheduling me on the spot.

One positive thing that has come out of this is that you've motivated me to try and sit down and draft a letter of complaint regarding my last adventure like the one you are having now - which was in November last year. I haven't got around to it because of all the big feelings this stuff brings up. However, you are reminding me that a letter of complaint is a way that I can find my voice and regain some sense of empowerment.

The last time I was locked up in the psych ward for a couple of days (way back in 2012) I worked super hard at reframing the predicament as "research". While I was in there I wrote down all the examples of dysfunction that I saw in the system. When I got out I wrote a three-page letter of complaint and I was able to cite those specific examples (complete with dates and times). I got a stock-standard response to my letter and at the time I didn't have the energy to follow it up further. However, even though my letter didn't change the world (which was painfully evident from the episode in November), it still felt good writing it. I wonder if it might help reduce the big feelings a tinsy tiny bit if you can frame this as "research" and focus on noticing the dysfunction with the aim of writing about it later, rather than exploding about it in the moment. Remember, in the moment the aim of the game is to simply get out of the muddle - no matter how much smiling and nodding it takes.

I will be thinking of you @CheerBear. Oh and by the way, I super love jigsaw puzzles. They make me feel super calm. However, I only do "real" ones, not the online ones.

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

@Phoenix_Rising thank you for taking the time to come here and write your super helpful response. I can relate to many of your ways of thinking and your coping techniques, like the 'research' in hospital, which is pretty much how I looked at my admission too. This kind of research is definitely a part of why I could pull off the grades I could, and maybe part of the reason people in my ocean like to tell me their stuff. I'm not sure I can bring myself to think of this experience like that yet, but I know that once it has passed, which it will, I will revisit it with that lens. This stuff is why I am determined to keep on keeping on so one day I too can try to change the world, even if it's in tiny little ways. I can relate to what you say even though I'm not an ISTJ aspie turtle with BPD, I'm an INFP little boat seeking rainbows with BPD traits that I call feeling and being passionate, and I think this is because we share the same experience of being human people who have experienced trauma. I was thinking in the shower that maybe I will write a letter of compliment to the system, at how incredibly effective they are because almost the second they were called it was like all my suicidal thoughts magically disappeared and I was ok again 😉 . But I realise that would be being facetious and past experience tells me that now would not be an appropriate time to indulge in inappropriate humor as a coping tool. But I did definitely laugh at your description of the Yes Minister episode being way too similar to this one so my sense of humor has not gone completely, it's just been put on mute for a while. It's like they've said that I'm a risk, they've poked and prodded me, told me how they understand that I'm under a lot of stress and that it isn't good for me and the LF, then stressed me more by further shaking me up, then walked away and left me, waiting to see what I do. If I'm not already feeling out of control I will be soon and that will prove their point and they'll be able to pat themselves on the back and think they did the right thing all along.

It will be ok. This wave will pass and a new one will come and it will pass again too and I will keep on keeping on through them at least for a bit longer.

Thanks Phoenix_rising and I hope your weekend is good for you. Maybe one day we can work out a way to have our voices really listened to together, in a way that keeps anonymity but is loud. Or we can just keep chipping away at all of this stuff and know that there are a number of people doing it in our own way, together but separately.

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

I'm dying in the most hilariously good way and need to share with @Spookytookims and @Phoenix_Rising! In the car and a withheld number called through bluetooth. Thinking that it was catt i answered with "hi , i have kids in the car, can you call me back in 15 minutes" and a beautiful sounding older woman spoke back and asked if I was cheerbear. She told me that she doesn't know who I am or what I'm going through but I've given my numer wrong to too many people and she's worried I'm missing important things and need to fix it asap. The timing after telling you guys only the other day is incredibly unbelievable but so very funny given my current muddle 😂. I got such a laugh after apologising terribly and wonder how many numbers poor ms 76 (random numbers there) must have called before she got hold of 67.

Lol @CheerBear that is tooo funny, but what a nice gesture from her! Timing is rather ... well timely 😄 Good sign maybe, that things are going to be ok. 🙂

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?

I'm going to take it as a good sign too @Spookytookims 🙂

My psych has just called and is going to try clarify the confusion about the apparent previous attempts and then speak to catt to try and diffuse some of this as psych knows I'm ok, particularly while LF are with me. An admission to a break place is a definite possibility now sometime soon, but with a bit of luck it can be organised so I feel more like it's my choice. Psych said perhaps that catt appt can wait until Monday as they have 24-72 hours to see me, (again - wtf) and that takes it to Monday when LF are at school and that will help me feel a lot better knowing they're not there. I am breathing a lot better right now and feeling more level headed. Am going to need a holiday very soon! Anyone want to head to a tropical island?
