Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - How do you "get over it"?
I'm so sorry @CheerBear😢 Does that mean they'll contact you now or is that a future thing? Yes the systems are all broken. And it's not fair but it's not time to give up your fight too! You are worth your fight as are your LF 💜🤗
pS if the Catt team come make sure you keep your fight for you and not them.

Apparently arguing with a triage nurse is a very bad idea. I expressed how very much not in my best interests a referral to catt would be and he's done it anyway. I told him how very very bad it is to have such a lack of power and how very able I am to make better decisions for myself than any other person. I told him how I'd spoken about this to protect myself and my family. How I am the one who's pushed for a psychiatrist referral to help me better cope. How I made an appt with my GP earlier than when it was booked to protect us. I let him know how incredibly retraumatising it is to have to tell my story again and again and how feeling threatened is very very bad. I told him that what's not ok for the LF is to see a team of people here they don't know. And he did it anyway. It's a broken system. C-link is a broken system. FV is a broken system. Housing is a broken system. And I'm broken and doing my best to be unbroken and I keep getting smashed by broken things. I would have been ok. I know I would have been ok.
@CheerBear I know you would have been ok too. Indeed, I know you WILL be ok...even though this experience is going to make it that much more of a super challenge. I know that you are the expert on your life. I know that you know what is best for you. I know that you know how to best care for yourself and your LF. I know how retraumatizing it is to have to tell your story again and again. I know how retraumatizing it is to feel threatened. I know how utterly broken the system is and I know that right now you are stuck smack bang in the middle of it. I hear you.
You have a 100% success rate of surviving every single day and every single bit of cr*p that life has thrown your way. Don't let this one dumb a*rse (or more likely the many dumb a*rses you will most likely encounter while this situation runs its course) jepodise your 100% perfect success rate. This situation super super SUPER sucks right now. But it WILL pass. Maybe not as quickly as we would all like, but it truly will pass.

@CheerBear I super wish I could just magically fix this situation for you. I can hear that it is playing out differently to the way my situations tend to play out and I only have my experience to go on so forgive me if I say anything that sounds random or out of place. My situations have always been that someone calls the police, the police appear on my doorstep, they drag me off to hospital and have me scheduled. I know to grab my phone, wallet and turtle.
The idea that someone thinks you are "at risk"...and then you're told the catt team will call "sometime over the weekend" makes no sense to me. If there is a risk, deal with it now. If there isn't a risk, let's all just move on. I can only imagine the strain this "will call sometime" idea must be placing on you. The system is absurd...and I'm still feeling angry on your behalf. I super hope the fact that the catt team aren't rushing to call you is a sign that all is not yet lost. Oh and you are DEFINITELY not alone here. I'm sitting right beside you. Well...not RIGHT beside you...but, you know, in a right beside you with a good metre between us kind-of a way. ![]()

About to head off now @CheerBear,
i have to food shop, I wish I could pick stuff up for you while I'm out. Take care of you tonight. Distract, distract distract and chat here about anything.
Sending loads of hugs 💜🤗
ps @Phoenix_Rising I'm glad you got a giggle earlier. It's about time I gave one to you as you make me giggle lots. 💜🤗
PPS. Want to know how bad the system is. My GP and therapist rang MHT numerous times before my attempt asking for help. Over six months none was offered, not even a phone call until I eventually succumbed and attempted. Since then it's been a mix of some good and really bad since linked in with them. And a few more attempts and numerous SH. However it finally seems after nearly 4 years of me being on their books that they are trying to help. When you need help you can't get it, when you don't it's forced on you. 😡

yeah @Phoenix_Rising same re the police thing and in hospital... only thing I can think of with this "I'll call" thing is that they think Cheerbear must be ok, at least for now and it's more a some kind of check thing. I don't have experience with that either though, so I can't say for sure on that.
Maybe some of the moderators might have some insight into that methodology and why?

Hello @Spookytookims @Phoenix_Rising @CheerBear @Former-Member @Appleblossom,
I also am not sure why they have said they would call at some point and leave @CheerBear left dealing with a feeling of uncertainty in regards to what is going to happen.
It makes sense to me that perhaps your worker has some concerns and they are more serious concerns because of previous attempts and just wanted to get some more support for @CheerBear incase things are to get worse over the weekend. But if the risk was immediate they would be clear about that in that phonecall, perhaps they just want to keep the communication open and see how things go, the best @CheerBear can do is what it sounds like has been done, is be honest do things to try to be safe. ![]()

@Former-Member I imagine we could certainly trade some stories about how bad the system is. And yes, I totally hear you re. the idea that when we ask for help it isn't forthcoming and when we don't need it, it's forced upon us! I have well and truly given up asking. Now the only time I have any contact with the public mental health system is when someone freaks out and calls the police on me. I am so very very grateful that I now have both a psychologist and a GP who know that getting anyone from the public mental health system involved in my muddle is a definite no no.

@CheerBear Ooooh pancakes sound YUM! Now you've made me think I should perhaps make pancakes for Friday Feast. I wonder if you might nest in a tree at FF tonight assuming the amazingly unhelpful catt team don't call.
Yeah, don't ask too many questions of mental health professionals who have a position of power over you Cheerbear - they find it threatening. Maybe you could ask your questions here instead??? I know my way around the mental health act (for NSW at least) a little bit. For example, I know the reason I've never been held in a psych ward for more than 72 hours is because I've always been described as "mentally disordered" rather than "mentally ill." I think that's pretty much code for "she's just an attention-seeking borderline, we don't want her here." ![]()
You can easily find the mental health act for your state online. But don't quote it to them - again, they find that threatening...says the aspie who may possibly have learnt this from experience. ![]()
