The Highlight of Your Day thread

The Highlight of Your Day thread

I thought it might be nice to have a place to share the highlight of your day (even if it's found in a fleeting moment) 🙂

For me today, the highlight of my day was finishing the most annoying round of crochet in a blanket I have been working on for months. This round has taken me so long and I've found it so frustrating that I didn't think I would ever finish the project. Stitch by (incredibly frustrating) stitch it came together. Super excited to get to change colours and start the next round now!

Looking forward to hearing anyone else's highlights 🙂

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

Bit of a funky day today but my highlight was getting to start a new colour in my mandala. I've found my crochet groove again and it feels good 😊

@Former-Member - I've just remembered your highlight yesterday. I read it and had ooooodles of empathy for the frustration and stuff around that can be that place and then had it all go down again for me today. It's so annoying. Hope you're having a better day than yesterday.

Thanks @CheerBear
It can bring us crashing down especially when we have others relying on us. Im glad you were able to distract with the crochet and start a new colour.

My highlight today. Hmmmm it's a bit hard as not much happened but I think it's seeing my boys get along so well as adults. The four of them chatted and laughed away tonight. My family was fractured badly for a long time but we are working our way slowly back to being a family, the boys and I. I love they are pulling together again. As hard as it's been I'm grateful we've had this time with three of them living together again. I know it won't last too much longer but at least they are becoming good friends again.

@Former-Member - well done to you on providing opportunities to your boys to have fun and be friends. Being friends with your siblings is such a gift 🙂 Four boys - still hard for me to imagine!

Today's highlight was watching a storm roll in. It didn't last long but I love watching the sky change. Cold now but it's great tea and crochet weather 🙂

My highlight today was remembering that there's only 3 more sleeps until Dearly Beloved ( DB) arrives. Couldn't get the Cheshire cat grin off my face for hours.

The other highlight (yes 2 in 1 day) was feeling the love, sharing and caring kindness from my friends that make these forums such a very special place in my irl world! 😃

Hi @Former-Member, a lovely highlight with your sons getting along so well as adults now.

Hi @CheerBear, wonderful that you were able to take that time to appreciate the storm's arrival.

Hi @Appleblossom, what was the doco?

Hi @Kurra, warms my heart to think of your DB returning.

Highlight here was communicating with a writer I've recently met on the net. We are now collaborating on a video project. That and some work on the video were highlights of today here.

Ah serious stuff @Mazarita .. about WW1 The Long Shadow and Sarajevo

I am singing a new cantata called Peace about Monash celebrating the end of the war so I thought I better swot up on it as I never did history.

But the REALLY good thing is that I am claiming my right to watch tv and saving things I want. For years we were at a stalemate with tv outside of son's bedroom so I wouldnt watch it .. but I moved the blooming thing. Watched a season of Orange is the New Black ... which I loved at first, but thought it was becoming predictable and getting a bit gratuitous with the violence. I can cope with violence if it is about real things but not much if it is fiction. Seen enough.

Hope you are going ok and still able to do some beach walking.

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

Hi @Appleblossom, sounds like they must have been really good documentaries. Great to hear you have reclaimed your right to the television. I remember from ages ago you talking about how you had trouble ever getting your wishes met in that regard. Good development that you are able to take over a bit more of that space in the house. Personally, I can't watch much at all that has any violence in it these days, regardless of whether it's there for plot reasons or not. But my friend around the corner loved Orange is the New Black. Prior to that she had watched every episode of the old series of Prisoner. She seems to have a liking for female prison shows. At the moment I've still got a cold/flu on the chest and have slept about 12 hours since last night. Beach walking is still happening, though not as frequently as I would like. Hoping to get more and more back into it as the weather keeps cooling. Best time of year to walk on the beach up here is from about now to October. Whale season starts about May too. Ciao for now, Bella.

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

My highlight just now was finally managing to unearth my second pair of glasses! I broke the arm off my current prescription which shouldn't have happened because they are made from titanium.

My newly found pair are also titanium frames which are necessary because of an apparently rare nerve condition that means almost any weight around the bridge of my nose causes my entire face to become completely numb for up to 18 hours. Titanium is very light. Most of the weight is caused by the lenses. Unfortunately titanium frames cost mega dollars. Money that I simply don't have at present.

Now you'll understand why I burst into tears of massive relief when I found them. Woohoo! 😂
