The Highlight of Your Day thread

The Highlight of Your Day thread

I thought it might be nice to have a place to share the highlight of your day (even if it's found in a fleeting moment) 🙂

For me today, the highlight of my day was finishing the most annoying round of crochet in a blanket I have been working on for months. This round has taken me so long and I've found it so frustrating that I didn't think I would ever finish the project. Stitch by (incredibly frustrating) stitch it came together. Super excited to get to change colours and start the next round now!

Looking forward to hearing anyone else's highlights 🙂

...and the highlight of the day for the green ants was probably finding a railing to go up and down.

Hi all

My highlight today - was to address the orange "highlights" in my hair And the track and the greys. I am pretty sure that it looks better.

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

Hello Everyone, I had a difficult morning as I am about to finish next week with a therapist who has supported and guided me through some very dark and difficult months. I was able to express my feelings with her today mostly calmly, but the highlights of my day were that she made me laugh at the end when I was crying and anxious initally, and she gave me an 'option to celebrate' the end of our sessions. I am going to have a small picnic next week for our last session, and do some baking of some snacks and treats. We will go to a nearby park after the paperwork is done, and spent some nice last moments together. It will still be sad, but ending with good memories too.

Hi @Sans911

Thank you for sharing how difficult ending therapy can be. And you have clearly attained the therapeutic goals and are now doing much better. What a lovely way to conclude the work that you have done together, a picnic that you will create for sharing. Just to be outdoors and enjoying a rich environment matters so much.

Just to mention though - if you need more sessions this year, further down the track - please consider the further option of the EPC now known as chronic disease management plan. Your therapist will have to be agrreable though as the rate is significantly lower.

It is only a few years now, that the option of 18 sessions was removed, then down to 12 and now only 10. As a therapist I fully acknowlede that for most people this is so inadequate.

Please consider pressuring our right wing, fiscally tight government.

Go for it though, it sounds like you have graduated!

Re: The Highlight of Your Day thread

@BastThank you for response. Although not technically a post for this thread, just for clarification, my therapist is part of the ALIVE program for prevention of suicide. The sessions were at not cost to me. I have chronic SH/SI, like so many others, so the funding for the program is only supposed to allow for 3months support. I was still a very high risk at 3months so my support time was extended for another month, but now I have 'graduated' to a moderate risk. I will be refferred on to my local community MH Team for ongoing long term pyschological support, so still a very long way to go. And I am considering pressuring the government for future funding, because there are just not services for the ever increasing demand. Thanks for your information.
