I thought it might be nice to have a place to share the highlight of your day (even if it's found in a fleeting moment) 🙂
For me today, the highlight of my day was finishing the most annoying round of crochet in a blanket I have been working on for months. This round has taken me so long and I've found it so frustrating that I didn't think I would ever finish the project. Stitch by (incredibly frustrating) stitch it came together. Super excited to get to change colours and start the next round now!
Looking forward to hearing anyone else's highlights 🙂
I'm very lucky to live with a lovely garden to explore and discover little joys like these often @Shaz51🙂

Not a legitimate highlight, but I did manage to pay my bills on time.

Real highlight today: beat my PB on a particular section of my ride home, thanks to the tailwind.

The highlight of my day was seeing my super awesome GP. For me, she serves as a reminder that even though there are a lot of amazingly unhelpful health professionals out there, there are also SOME good ones. I really don't see how I would have made it through the awfulness of my previous psychologist dumping me the day after getting me scheduled last November, without her. My GP totally stepped up and dealt with victim's services for me and also helped me keep therapist shopping by making a lot of the calls to prospective psychologists (and getting a lot of "no, too complex" rejections). She has also engaged with my current psychologist and this is the first time in my life I've experienced anything resembling co-ordinated care. So yep, amongst a bazillion awful re-traumatizing experiences with health professionals, she is a shining light. I know she had many sleepless nights during Nov-Dec last year when she chose to respect the fact that hospital was damaging rather than helpful for me. I know I am the first suicidal patient she has had (she only recently graduated) and I know it was a very very big deal that she chose not to get me scheduled despite extreme suicide risk. For a little while there, the ONLY thing that kept me going was the thought that if I suicided, then my GP would spend the rest of her career scheduling patients at the first sign of suicidal risk. I am so grateful for the trust she had in me (and continues to have in me) and she is a super important part of why I choose to keep on keeping on. So yep, seeing her was definitely the highlight of my day and it balanced out the awefulness of last Thursday's adventure.

One highlight for me today has happened now, as I read the last few posts here. I continue to feel inspired and encouraged to look for and share the good, because I see people here who face challenges and struggles who are able to do it too.
My highlight to share today was that I sat and I really appreciated the garden and what is growing and living in it. I sat still in the sunshine and didn't want to run, or focus only on the weeds or the messy leaves. I didn't really even see them because I was so much enjoying watching and hearing birds, insects, flowers, vegetables and seeds I planted that are sprouting (carrots, lettuce and a bucketload of new flowers!) that they kind of faded away. The garden is getting colourful and pretty and delicious and I felt very calm being around it today 🙂
