Re: Carers under 30...

yes 😞 @Former-Member

i got there and they had cancelled my appointment without letting me know at all. they reassessed the bad tooth and they think its too risky for them to take out so now i have to wait for the oral sugeon to get back to me to remove the bad tooth plus the wisdom teeth all at the same time.

the hospital where they do it is 2-3 hrs dirve dependin on traffic so im having a look and seeing if i can get some rough prices for a hotel. 6 hrs drive in one day with kids isnt great so if i can save for just an overnight stay it should be alright.

so now im not really sure what im suppose to do, just keep taking pain killers and antibiotics when neccessary i suppose..

Oh dear my chickadee, having appt cancelled is upsetting, then more of a wait ...

You might need to check the paperwork you have been given, if teeth are being done under anaesthetic @outlander I think you will find no driving or caregiving allowed for 24 hours post surgery and they want a responsible person to be with you overnight, if this is not possible they may want to admit you for o'night observation.

Re: Carers under 30...

yes @Former-Member it is upsetting, so the bad tooth is still in there and will need to be done with the wisdom teeth.
i couldnt get through the hospital when i rung plus im a little drowsy cause i took double prn so that i wouldnt flip out at the dentists. They said the hospital will give me a call whenever they may be, have an assessment done with all the details like medical history, medications etc and then we go from there. ill be asking for a GA. theres no way i want to be awake for 5 teeth and the way my wisdoms are they may need o remove some bone as well. yukky. i really just want something to happen, im not sure if i can find another specialist in my area however will be extremely expensive..
itll just be me and pop at home but because of the travel involved im thinking take mum, her bf and the kids up with me and we can stay in a hotel, at least ill have 2 people able to supervise and i wont have to worry about mountains (different air pressure-blocked ears, headaches etc) straight after a surgury. t doesnt even bother me if im admitted overnight, at least itll be abreak from everything at the moment.

Do you ever doubt your abilities to be a carer @Former-Member

Re: Carers under 30...

I think I view myself primarily as Mr Darcy's wife not his carer @outlander and whilst I do have some frustrations (don't we all?) continue to love him dearly, he is an equal partner and I do try to ensure that I do not take over. I think that there are things I would find difficult and don't know if I could handle them - for example elicit drug use, gambling etc. but this is not something I have not needed to deal with.

As for caring for someone else - I am not sure - probably could for a family member but only if they were amenable and agreed to include me in relation to various parameters.
