Recognition for the work that carers do

Recognition for the work that carers do

Hello people in Carers Forum Land. I've never ventured over here from the lived experience forum and I'm feeling all shy. However, this article landed in my inbox this morning and I thought it would be of interest over here. I don't actually have any family or friends myself, but I know that carers do an amazing job in supporting those that they love. If anyone here does happen to feel like adopting someone with Borderline Personality Disorder, I'm open to it. I mean, what could be more fun than having someone (or another someone) with BPD in your life! Here's the link to the article: http://theconversation.com/heres-how-much-it-would-cost-the-government-to-pay-everyone-who-takes-care-of-family-with-mental-illness-74760?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20March%2023%202017%20-%2070265274&utm_content=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20March%2023%202017%20-%2070265274+CID_3e0041eadb6d09286518efab7811c5a4&utm_source=campaign_monitor&utm_term=Heres%20how%20much%20it%20would%20cost%20the%20government%20to%20pay%20everyone%20who%20takes%20care%20of%20family%20with%20mental%20illness

Re: Recognition for the work that carers do

Good morning @Former-Member,

I am plodding along. S appears completely indifferent to P's passing. P was 13 and S is only 2. I kept them separate a fair bit because S's youthful exuberance was a bit much for P. All of my animals are male. Poor S has lived his entire life in the shadow of his two brothers' respective terminal illnesses. We are now spending some time getting to know each other.

I am quite excited about the CG adventure. Hee hee, did you think I was going to suddenly become very grown up or something when I became a CG? I'm pretty sure NikNik still doesn't know I snuck through the CG gate in CheerBear's pocket.

I super hope they can sort out Mr Darcy's medication. And no, you definitely have no reason to be hiding from the registrar. I hope you will hold your head up super high.

@Phoenix_Rising

Please don't suddenly grow up, we love you for who you are ... which is why you are perfect for the job.

I had the hounds in the kennel for three nights, they were very happy to see me this morning when I picked them up. I think they would both miss each other, I was a bit disappointed when they did not seem to miss our old girl. Hope S will become purrfectly attuned to you although I suspect he is thinking the opposite and that you will be expected to look after his demands.

Will hold my head high, even if I need to get one of those cervical collars to do so.

Darcy

Hey @Phoenix_Rising

Bit worried about you, are you ok?

Re: Recognition for the work that carers do

@Former-Member Nope, not ok. But I will be. A massive storm hit the ocean last night and it is going to take quite a bit of time to sort out the muddle. 😔😔😔

Are you able to access support @Phoenix_Rising?

Re: Recognition for the work that carers do

@Former-Member no. Forum land IS my support. I just need to bunker down and ride it out now. I am super sleepy. I will sleep well tonight. Tomorrow is another day. 😊
