No Change

I log on hoping things have changed but they still haven't. I still cannot read or chat in any thread. Doesn't matter if its new, old, mine.

Yes I've reported a technical issue, no I haven't heard back

Don't think I'm being rude, but no I cannot respond to you on here. Can only read it if I'm logged out.

Like a lot of others, being on here is a struggle. A once safe place doesn't feel that way anymore.

I've been trying to keep some hope but there's not much left.

Yes I've tried to do the right thing and reached out elsewhere for help.

Re: No Change

@Snowie Yesss I am having one of those today ☺️.

Ah Carlton hey! Enjoy the game tonight and hope they win for ya!

Yes I know the feeling of how exhausting they are. Also sometimes just sit in the car after sessions. I started emdr since Jan. It’s been interesting. I ended up spacing out sessions as the cover only gives you so many before having to pay and just wasn’t getting anywhere financially so had they spaced out but think it lost its effectiveness so got the cover again so happy to increase the frequency. Are you finding your sessions helpful?

I only know the tiniest bit of ECT, how’s that going for you? Only if you want to share of course.

Thats nice you are taking your mum to her appts, both my pops had dementia.

i have a week of work, just been so tired the batteries are just not charging.

lovely connecting snowie, take care

Re: No Change

Sometimes we need those days @Chasingsunsets

I've done emdr with my psych too. I have found that it helps. Most of my psych sessions help. I've had a few via telehealth and found them not to be helpful. Much rather see the psych in person.

I think ECT has helped. I have had it as an inpatient before but having it once every 4 weeks at the moment. I do think it has helped in not having to have another admission.

Hopefully we win tonight. It will be more me trying to stay awake to watch it till the end!!

I hope your week of work goes ok. Do you mind me asking what you do for work?

Re: No Change

I think so too @Snowie. I fight them less and just try to roll with them 😊.

I am glad you found emdr helpful. I feel like I am more aware of things and sometimes have felt confused but apparently that’s part of it. I get a lot somatic reactions during which is interesting.

I am glad you are finding the ECT helpful. Are the voluntary sessions, you don’t have to mention if you don’t want. I’ll have to do a bit of reading to refresh my memory on the treatment.

haha I know what you mean re staying awake but I think at the moment I am stuck with being awake at night and not wanting to be awake during the day 🤪.

I read somewhere you are a teacher or use to teach? My parents are teachers, well one not working anymore but that’s a long story. Mum still works in primary, not in the class room anymore. I can’t mention what I do, not sure why I cant 😜 sorry, it includes shift work 😊 and can be long hours at times. I really enjoy it though

Re: No Change

At the moment the ECT are voluntary @Chasingsunsets It is something that my pdoc discussed with me and thought would help. So I did agree to have them. There are some things I don't like about having it, but I think overall they have been beneficial.

Whatever it may be, I'm glad that you enjoy your work. It is always easier to go if you like it.

Yes, I did used to teach. With my MH and mums Dementia I did take leave. It is something I would like to get back to at some stage.

Re: No Change

@Snowie I hear the treatment has positive and not so good effects. I am really glad it’s working for you. Yeah overall it’s kept me around my work. So it definitely have it’s benefits. Suits me to a T 😊happy to be cryptic and you may get what I am putting down. I feel like most people have an idea what I do but then not sure 🤔😊. They do say our jobs- we get along and similar in ways. That’s really cool you would like to get into teaching again, I can hear why you needed the time off. What did you enjoy about your work?

Re: No Change

I guess with anything we have to weigh up the pros and cons @Chasingsunsets ATM the pros are winning.

It makes it so much easier when you enjoy what you are doing. It's good to hear that you have found something that suits you. I think I'm getting an idea about what field you are in.

I did enjoy teaching. I liked helping kids reach their potential. I taught later secondary so would teach students in the couple of years before they graduated.

Re: No Change

I just kinda assume he stops there on his way to wherever, like when the whales migrate north and such @Chasingsunsets

its cold in Hobart. But we are snuggled up in our hotel room for the night with the heater on. We visited a really nice market today, my feet are a bit sore from wondering about. No beach today. Drove from north tassie down to Hobart, about 3 hrs drive. But we did go yesterday and I collected another bag of rocks. I’ll post some pics here in a minute of what I turn them into.

I seen my dad yesterday. We sat, my daughter played with the dog and we mostly talked about my brother and other random stuff. Mostly about them. They didn’t ask me one question. They didn’t speak to my daughter and they were rather dismissive when my daughter spoke. I’ve never really had a good relationship with my dad. They separated when I was about 10 maybe. Court over custody and the courts decided to separate me and my brother. I lived with mum and my brother with my dad. I hated going there every second weekend. He wasn’t very present. He drank, worked and played a lot of sport. I hated that I was made to go there and most of the time he wasn’t even around. I was exposed to a lot of stuff a kid shouldn’t be. A lot of stuff was done to me by other kids- his girlfriend and now I guess my step mother. I never liked her. Have a name for her. I stopped going when I was about 16. Just went when I wanted to. I then moved from tas to Sydney and we just never really had much to do with each other. If we ever got on the phone, it was very much like how yesterday visit went. All about him and how ‘amazing’ his life is. Never any interest in me or my life, so I just don’t really call. So yeah that’s me and my dad.

tomorrow we are going on a steam train ride and my mum will catch up with a friend and then we will do the drive back north.

what’s today been like for you? How are you traveling?

Re: No Change

@Chasingsunsets these are some of the pieces I’ve done.

I still have moments at the market I sell at when I realize people spend money on my art work and display it in their homes and offices.

it started as just something to do to pass time with all my mental health stuff. But there’s only a certain amount of pieces I can put in our place and can’t keep giving them to friends for the same reason. My mum has been doing markets for years and I always take her cause she don’t drive…. So I claimed a table in her marquee and yeah.

Re: No Change

Yesss I agree @Snowie I am constantly assessing the pros and the cons of my treatments actually in particular the current meds, this one has been super super hard to fine tune and I’m in two minds about it which makes it difficult 😜. It been the one I have been in the longest so I must see some value in it 😊. I’ll keep dropping cryptic clues as I go haha. But I think you are on the right track. Sorry it has to be a bit not as straight forward 🤪. It’s nice to hear you enjoy what you do it must be so rewarding seeing your students progress! Big day today and a massive walk so I think I might be in bed soon.

How’s your day?

ps ill be very very glad when my edited post aren’t in blue bold anymore it’s irritating me 🤯. Sorry for the bold blue text 🙏

Sorry to hear about your dad and that he was quite dismissive. Also sorry to hear about your history. Not much I can say about it other than it’s super sad and I’m sorry. With you through it bow.
