Hello

Hello @Shaz51 @Naturelover @ChasingSunsets @TAB @MissGremlin and everyone. Sorry I can't remember a lot of usernames and I'm not sure notifications are working.

Sending greetings and commiserations. My account has had some bugs - still does - but I'd like to share group 🫂 hugs

Re: Hello

Well done on stretching @Chasingsunsets . I can feel my posture improving a bit but I'm still getting a bit stiff and sore.

Bluewinged kookaburras are new to me. Down south there are some smaller kingfishers.

I guess today was a bit of a recovery day for me after pushing myself for a few days. I'm not sure what to do next.

I have two spikes of flower buds on one of my cynbidium orchids. I didn't think it was going to flower this year so it's a nice surprise.

Re: Hello

That’s good your posture is improving @Dimity, I am hoping mine will too. I haven’t quite worked out where my problem is 🤭🙈. So that’s making it difficult lol. Ah well trial and error right haha. Ah yeah if I can I’ll try get a pic of one, around here they are hard to get pics of and when these were calling it was before the sun rose. They are a bit easier back when I am so will always keep a look out now hehe m. I know you can google but it’s part of the fun right re looking at what I can see around 😊.

i think it’s always good to have rest days. Not sustainable otherwise I reckon.

exciting about your orchards!! That’s a lovely surprise for you ☺️

Re: Hello

Hi @Chasingsunsets I like the way you keep your eyes open for new critters.

It must be hard if you've not had a good evaluation or diagnosis of your back issues. My previous gp never followed up until I saw an osteopath who put me on the right track. She also recommended a better gp. (The previous gp had done things like a telehealth consultation of under 1 minute.)

I'll sweep leaves today. My native frangipani tree is from rainforests of SE Qld and northern NSW and drops leaves when it's too cold or too dry.

Re: Hello

Hehe yeesss @Dimity have to turn on the #macrovision lol. Getting harder and harder to spot new things but there are always something to see about ☺️☀️.

Hows your weekend been? And how’s the leaf situation? 😉🍁

I don’t know my flowers very well hehe but I googled- the native frangipanis look so pretty, so they have a perfume like the others?

Ive kept an eye out for the blue winged kookaburras I hear them just haven’t had one close enough for a pic, haha always the way! 😀

Re: Hello

Hi @Chasingsunsets yes the native frangipani smells gorgeous especially on warm nights. It keeps me busy with leaf drop and blossom drop but it's worth it.

@Shaz51 is good with macro close-ups .

Good luck with lining up the bluewinged kookaburras. I only recently heard of bluewinged parrots - they migrate across Bass Strait.

Re: Hello

Just lost my post to you 🤯 @Dimity

just retyping.

Awesome about the native frangipanis!! I’ll have to look out for them ☺️. Hehe well taking the leaves also is a good way to stay active right haha. My pop when he got dementia was obsessed with coloured leaves. When I’d take him on walks I’d have to hold his pants at the back while he’d be bending over picking up a coloured one 🤣 so he didn’t fall lol. He collected soooo many leaves. He also loved nature. Good memories 🍁☀️

Yess I love @Shaz51 pics, esp the ones she posts of the sunbirds 🤩

ha yes it’s going to keep me busy re the kookaburras haha I’m going to go google the blue winged parrot! Actually what did come over to sus me out while away was a butcher bird took me ages to work out what it was actually haha

Re: Hello

Coloured leaves is a good obsession @Chasingsunsets but when I was 6 or 7 we picked poison ivy one autumn. Didn't get a rash, maybe it's more poisonous when it's green.

I sometimes have a butcherbird visit - I think it's a grey not a pied. Gorgeous song.

Thanks for retyping!

Re: Hello

Hehe yes @Dimity he loved collecting leaves!! However they would die and become brown and dried but he still loved them ☺️🍁.

yeah the one that visited me was a pied butcher bird, he was pretty cute. I came across a pic last night of a spangled kookaburra! They are awesome looking!! Also googled the blue winged parrot they are beautiful 😊

How’s your day going?

In response to: Hello

Re: Hello

I googled a spangled kookaburra @Chasingsunsets - does look pretty awesome. Looks as though they're in PNG.

My day was pretty quiet, walked to the shops and haven't done much. Had a couple of long calls from my nextdoor neighbour.

Are you and Indi doing ok?

In response to: Hello

Re: Hello

@Dimity, how’s your Tuesday going? Sorry about yesterday must have missed each other by not that long I don’t think!

I’m pretty tired and so is the dogo I think ☺️.

yeah I googled the spangled kookaburra too as I had not seen them before and then realised why I hadn’t because they are in PNG haha. Very cool markings though hey!

Hope the long calls went ok yesterday, what did you see on your walk when you went? I saw a really cool moth with a cool hair style yesterday just wanting for pic approval on highlights hopefully you’ll be able to see it soon 😊. Jumping off now but hope to be on a bit later 🫶
