I don’t have any quals but have a lot of life experiences from things I grew up plus through decades of face to face customer service which involved helping people from both ends of capacity spectrum and everything in between. I’ve worked along side social workers assisting people in dire circumstances @Appleblossom
growing up I never realised the huge expanse there was between my childhood home and what was “normal” compared to other people’s homes. I carry a large trauma load, some of which is linked to intergenerational involving multiple generations.
Ive had interactions with good and not good people in the medical profession, from GPs to psychiatrists. Whilst I was working I tapped into support through EAP providers at different times, some good and others a waste of my time.
thing that has got big red lights flashing in my mind currently is current and previous psychologists are employed by and work through the same psychology group. I’m paying full attention to the red lights whilst determined to not “tar with same brush”.
2 things my dad taught me at a young age and have never failed me. ‘Always treat people the way you want to be treated’. ‘No matter what position a person holds, no one is better than anyone else.’
