Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

Arie here watching over you tonight. Settle into a safe and comfortable place and allow the waves to gently rock you to sleep

Re: Riding a wave

@Former-Member can you please check in? I thought today was going to be a productive day...but my brain is all full up with feelings of loneliness, worthlessness and hopelessness. I am going to go and take a bath and try to read some of TBKTS (cos that is being at least a bit productive). I so very VERY badly want my brain to work properly and I know it could if only I could settle the big feelings. Right now I am questioning how anyone can ever really get better without the "friends and family" thing. I feel super alone.

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

You're not alone...I'm here with my usual friend to ride out these feelings of lonliness, worthlessness and hopelessness with you..

P.S: Reading TBKTS sounds like a nice idea as long as its not going to be triggering for you. You can get through this..I believe in you

Re: Riding a wave

@Phoenix_Rising There is way too much emphasis put on the 'family and friends' thing from people that really don't get it! How are we to 'conform' to the societal expectations and also help to 'heal' ourselves when these avenues are not open to us. Why don't 'they' understand that sometimes a large part of why we are who we are is often as a result of the dysfunction of our families and/or the betrayal of so called friends - and that the loneliness, worthlessness and hopelessness is fuelled by the 'toxic' or absent relationship we have with so-called family and friends. This is yet another problem with the whole MH 'system' - it advocates for unrealistic outcomes where the source of support expected is infact not a viable option.

I hear you also little turtle - and I get it!

Here sitting on my rock stack watching over the ocean also...

Re: Riding a wave

Thanks for getting it @Zoe7. It does seem to me that health professionals throw their hands in the air a bit when there are no "friends and family," when what I really need is for someone to care enough to step up and realise that given I have no friends and family, I really super badly need just a little bit of extra support. I have to say, the guys at SANE seem to "get" this...and for that I am EXTREMELY grateful.

@Former-Member I saw you floating around. Are you the @Former-Member watching over the ocean tonight? I am going to snuggle into my shell now and hope for a brighter day tomorrow. Thank you for watching the ocean.

Re: Riding a wave

The 'guys' at SANE are awesome @Phoenix_Rising - I totally agree with you that they "get it".

While I have you here - do you have any music preferences for your party? I know karaoke has been mentioned more than once elsewhere also lol
