Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

Wow @Catcakes so much to deal with

Is there a reason you can't acknowledge his birthday? Can you do something simple for yourself that nobody else knows about - like light a candle? You will know why but no-one else needs to if that is what you need.

Re: Riding a wave

@Catcakes Over the next 10 days I have my birthday (which I don't celebrate), my puppy dog's birthday (which I do celebrate lol) and the anniversay of my Nan dying. It is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions on top of how low I am already. So I can definitely understand how difficult the period leading up to Christmas is - even without the added stress of your partner having multiple injuries and an unwell mother.

Re: Riding a wave

Yes@Zoe7,
There is a very good reason ,
The candle idea is good though,
Thanks.
I’m hoping I can go with partner for his cat scan before going to Mum’s tomorrow.
I really need to stop drinking tonight so I’m up to doing what I have to tomorrow.
Worried about lots of shit.
Aren’t you allowed to say shit here in forum land.
Why are the moderators so useless,
I thought there would be some support here.
Thanks @Zoe7

Re: Riding a wave

What’s your puppy’s name @Zoe7 ?

Re: Riding a wave

Yeah probably a good idea to stop drinking if you are driving tomorrow @Catcakes

Alot of people say sh*t - it is just always the way I have written it lol

There is support 'behind the scenes' here @Catcakes but the primary focus is peer-to-peer support so the moderators will only 'jump in' or intervene if guidenlines have been breached, there is conflict between members that is not being resolved or someone is in crisis - in this case they will personally email you also.

I know none of that actually helps you right now but I am here with you and I hope that is helping you a little.

My puppy's name is Toby - he will be 4 on the 18th December

Re: Riding a wave

I hope I remember to wish Toby a happy birthday on 18 th December.🐶
I’m feeling a little calmer thanks @Zoe7.
The @Former-Member hasn’t helped me at all.
I guess I’m not in crisis to them
Sure feels like it to me though
I’m on the edge for sure
I will try to stop drinking tonight

Re: Riding a wave

Sometimes just letting things out - being allowed to 'talk' - can have a claming effect @Catcakes - that is what I find anyway

Wehad planned to have a Dog's Birthday Day on the 18th but I doubt I will be up to it. This is the longest I have been back on the forum for well over a week. The funny thing is that it has been quite easy to be here tonight because it is so quiet - less possibilty of being triggered and not too many people in conversations to get lost between.

You are definitely on the edge @Catcakes but your coninued interaction here with me shows me that you are more angry and emotionally drained than you are to harm yourself - and emotionswe can work through

Re: Riding a wave

Thanks @Zoe7,
You and Toby have helped a lot.
I hope my distress hasn’t been a burden on you,
Chat again soon❤️

Re: Riding a wave

Not a burden at all @Catcakes. I am so pleased we have helped you a little and look forward to chatting again. Take care @Catcakes (as much as you can anyway)

Hi @Phoenix_Rising 🙂

Just coming past to say hi and that I have missed you today but that I know you're here even when you're not. Am wondering how your day has been and hoping it's been a good one for you.
