Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

While it may be very different situations for us, sometimes when I think about where and what my life is now, I wonder whether things would be safer for me had I just stayed @Phoenix_Rising. I feel this the most when my feelings are huge, the waves are giant and when my brain feels particularly fried.

I know when I feel like that, there is nothing anyone could say to make things better except that they're listening, they care, and they're there, as we are tonight.

Re: Riding a wave

I super wish we could find the magic wand @Former-Member and @CheerBear. I am super struggling with my TW dumping me in February, and I am super struggling with staying on my pause button while my brain melts into nothingness. By the time NikNik gets home it will be three-and-a-half weeks since the Tsunami. That's a super long time for a brain to be left to melt.

Re: Riding a wave

Please excuse my wonkified-brain effort, @Phoenix_Rising … but I had to rewrite the lyrics:

I really matter
I’m a super turtle
A @CheerBear is caring
about me today

(Even if they’re wonky, I like them better than the others.)

You really do matter, @Phoenix_Rising. 🌷🐢

Re: Riding a wave

It's SO hard @CheerBear. You are partly correct in that when the big feelings are giant, I think more about Fred and how I should have stayed with him. However, the objective reality is that I truly WAS safer. Having the stability of knowing he had my back is definitely what kept me alive for well over a decade. If I was trying to do what I am now, back when I was in my early twenties, I simply would not have survived. However you look at it, Fred is the reason I'm not dead...and he is also the reason I am in the most terrible muddle at the age of 40. SUCH a muddle.

For what it is worth (which is probably nothing), I am super glad that you took yourself and your LF away from where you were.

Thank you @Former-Member.

That song has been the theme song of my life for more than twenty years now...and it isn't looking like it is going to be changing any time soon.

I really, really wish we could find that wand too @Phoenix_Rising. I think there are so many places we could wave it. Or that we could find that eleventy million dollars (I don't actually know what we would do with that tonight but it would be fun at least).

It's a long time 😞

Re: Riding a wave

Only six sleeps until NikNik gets home. I so very VERY badly wish she was here. The whole muddle would have been sorted right away if NikNik was around.

Re: Riding a wave

It is such a muddle that the reason you are not dead is also the reason you are in the most terrible muddle @Phoenix_Rising 😞

It is worth a lot to hear you say that re the LF and I.

Re: Riding a wave

@CheerBear I think I need to go and hide in my bed. There is something super scaring me on top of all my other scared and icky feelings.

There are some down the road between hither and yon,

That can scare you so much you won't want to go on.

Do you understand? The muddle has oh-so-many layers.

Re: Riding a wave

I definitely understand enough @Phoenix_Rising. I get this muddle has lots and lots of layers.

I hope your bed feels safe for you. I will be here even when I am not and when you are not also.
