Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

I can't see how I can survive this one. I should never have left Fred. I was infinitely safer with him than I am now. I have tried SO HARD to find help and I simply haven't been able to. I am invisible, I am worthless, I do not matter...except to people here and especially to the very long suffering @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member. But how long before I burn you out? How long before you tell me you cannot cope with me - like so many that have gone before you? I try SO HARD but my best is never good enough. Everybody leaves. I think my muddle is terminal. I am a waste of resources. Fred was right, I truly am too f***ed up for anyone else to treat. Despite the bad bits, he was the best therapist I was ever going to have. He put the time and effort in. He is the reason I am not dead. I was much much safer with him than I am now. I would never have survived as long as I have without him. He was right. He wins. @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member I know I am clinging to you right now like a drowning turtle. I am drowning. I can hear you in my head and I will keep clinging. Please don't let me go. I will keep clinging if you will keep holding until the storm settles enough to see a way forward. I will just be still and snuggle into your care while the storm rages.

Re: Riding a wave

@CheerBear I am sitting here crying and feeling mad at you because when I think about walking into my garage and suiciding, you pop into my brain. You are in my brain and so is @Former-Member and @Former-Member and @Former-Member. It's not fair! The people who care can't actually help and the person who could actually help, doesn't care.

It truly feels to me like (A) has got her name on the list of victims services counsellors without having any genuine interest in treating trauma. It feels like she just sees it as a source of referrals.

I don't know what to do. I feel utterly hopeless. (A) said that we both need to work at communicating better...BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO BE ANY CLEARER!!!!! On Monday I handed her my phone and let her READ THAT POST that Froginthepond suggested might be useful stuff to talk through with my therapist. I mean seriously HOW MUCH CLEARER CAN I BE???????????????

I am GOOD at communicating my needs. I know that people aren't mind-readers, I know I need to use my "I need..." and "I feel..." statements.

My goal in therapy is to create a life worth living, which for me means stable employment. Here is the very good handover report that therapist-take-one wrote (in writing). Here is my own brief overview of my history (in writing). Here is the neuropsych assessment I had done (in writing). Here is the autism assessment I had done (in writing). Here is the very comprehensive legal report that details the icky abuse stuff (in writing). There! You have my treatment goal and my entire history IN WRITING. WHICH PART OF THIS COMMUNICATION IS NOT CLEAR???????????????

Sometimes here in Forum Land I hear people go on about how ultimately it is the client that needs to "do the work." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN????????? I am trying SO HARD. I am doing everything I can to heal my brain. The one thing I cannot do alone is the interpersonal and attachment-related stuff. By definition attachment issues can only be healed in relationship. And given that for reasons I do not understand no-one wants to be around me here in the real world, I kind-of need some professional support around this.

I need a therapist who understands the atttachment stuff and works within that framework. The loudest message I have received from (A) is that she is not there and I can't turn to her for support. By definition this is the antithesis of developing a secure attachment. This relationship has become a repeat of a thousand past relationships: I do not matter, anybody can do anything to me, I am invisible, I am worthless. HOW IS THIS HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And so I am clinging like a drowning turtle to Pebbles, Rockpool and Lunar. I know I'm clinging. I know that what is happening with (A) is frying my brain. I know I am chaotic. I know my brain is flooded. I know I am desperate. I know I'm taking up too much time and resources. I don't want to be like this, but I also don't know how to fix it!

I miss Fred. I should never have left him. I was much safer with him than I am now. It was much safer being told I was a stupid f***ing borderline who could only ever be contained and managed, than it is trying to find alternative support. It is TWO YEARS since the final showdown with Fred. He would laugh at me so much now if he knew what was happening. He would so love to be telling me "see, I told you so. I told you that you are too f***ed up for anyone else to treat." He was right and I was wrong. He wins.

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning @Phoenix_Rising. I was halfway through a reply to your post when a something happened that has thrown my morning off. I wanted to you to know that I am hearing you, feeling you and with you here even when I am not. I'm glad you're snuggling in my pocket, I could definitely use the company again today too, even if it is mad at me company. I accept and understand that.

Thinking of you lots and lots

Re: Riding a wave

Hi @Phoenix_Rising and @Zoe7

You girls have the right idea - ride out a storm in a beautiful cave with your best little mates - I am hoping the storm is less today - but if not perhaps I can drop in with Companion Cat - I am not feelingr 100% physically well - dunno why - but just riding out the way I feel right now

You are right - no way you can swim in a storm - particularly if the god of earthquakes and storms etc has generated it - wow the waves can be right-handers and left-handers and back-handers

All the best down there in the cave

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

As you could imagine, I have alot to say about your last post but think that for now we should ride out this wave and get to the other stuff later when the feelings arent as intense.

I hear you with the muddle and with the continuing struggles with (A) and I certainly dont feel that Fred has won at this stage. I will be here riding this out with you in the ocean...

Re: Riding a wave

I really like the way you guys bunkered down in the underwater cave last night @Phoenix_Rising and @Zoe7 you made it through the night and found a safe zone to connect with others in forumland whilst offering others support through your own battles too. Pretty impressive in my eyes.

You are in my thoughts

Re: Riding a wave

@Former-Member my GP just said that Fred was a gem for giving me the amount of time he did. She regretted it half a second after saying it. I feel sick and like my brain is going to explode with the muddleness of my muddle. I want to die...but I will keep clinging to you.

Re: Riding a wave

I want to die but I choose to ride the wave. This is definitely a category 5 storm. I can do this. I may need a new shell after this storm but I can do this. All I have to do is be still and breathe and my body will keep itself alive. Suicide is a choice. I choose to live today. All I have to do is breathe. Inhale, exhale, repeat. I can do that. I've got this.
