@GezzaP hey Gezza, glad you're doing well post surgery. Just finished lunch with a group. Take care

Hi @GezzaP medical appointments can keep you busy, I hope they go okay. Are you up to much for the rest of the day?

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@creative_writer Just watched footy again in the afternoon and about to watch another game this evening if I can stay awake.

Did manage to cook lunch today.
Two of the medical appts are for a blood pressure monitor. I have had 2 of these already! And the hospital is hard to get to. Not that I can drive with my eye anyway.

I’ll be watching footy tomorrow afternoon as well.

I can’t go anywhere until I can get in the shower. It is tricky because I have to be careful of my eye in shower with soap. So hard to wash face. My bathroom is freezing too.

I have to wear a plastic guard on my eye at night for the first week. Have to put 2 different drops in eye 4 times a day for first week. One stings a little bit. Then 2 times a day until bottles run out. Have another appt at eye surgeon Friday. Then I’m having other eye operated on in July. Presumably with several follow up appts afterwards.

In August I have 2 different appts. Blood pressure and rash on chest. I take tablets for these on top of bipolar meds and quite a number of supplements.

My health is theoretically poor yet I recovered quickly from anaesthetic.

Did you do anything today?

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@ENKELI I have only one working heat lamp now since 3 failed so bathroom is very cold. Use a small fan heater to warm up bathroom. Expensive to run but I refuse to freeze.

I just watched footy and will tomorrow. Don’t know when I’ll manage to get in shower or bath. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. Is tricky to wash face.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@Dimity @Meowmy @SmilingGecko I have some instructions in my will about my bipolar if I’m unwell. Not convinced my two executers will respect my wishes though. Don’t have anyone else to have though.

I haven't followed footy for years. But we beat hawthorn. One of my least favourite teams

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@GezzaP what did you cook for lunch?

It’s sounds like you’ve got a lot going on medically. I hope you are able to be gentle with yourself while you heal.

It can be a lot to take meds plus supplements. I’m taking quite a bit myself.

I didn’t get up to much today. I went for a walk and wrote a poem

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@creative_writer I had a ham steak with spuds, baby carrots and peas for lunch. Had crackers and dips at about 4.30 and spring rolls about 5.30pm. One of the meds I’m on makes me constantly hungry.

Writing a poem and going for a walk is pretty good. I can’t write poems because of my training in history and politics at uni. I did write a super short story in a Spanish exam years ago drawing on my knowledge of indigenous people in Mexico.
