@GezzaP 8 hours is good. I slept around 9 hours ish, I fell asleep after my alarms, but woke up early enough that I didn’t sleep half of the day. I got myself out of bed, but probably could’ve slept more if I tried. Winter makes me so sleepy. But too much sleep isn’t good for depression. I’ve been feeling quite anxious today. How has your day been?

Yes @creative_writer I tend to sleep a lot if I’m depressed. Good on you for forcing yourself out of bed. Sorry to hear you have been feeling anxious.

My day has been fine. Didn’t do anything special. Walked around the garden a few times. No walk today very cold here today. Watching footy in the afternoon. Had a big lunch, but still getting a bit hungry now. Can’t decide what to eat.

@GezzaP I took a walk with my hoodie. It was miserable outside, but it thankfully didn’t rain. I felt a bit better afterwards. Still quite anxious and I’m experiencing a lot of touch aversion for the last few days.

What did you have for lunch?

I had bangers and mash with a salad for lunch at the pub @creative_writer . Having crackers and dips for a light dinner.
Good on you for walking. I should have walked as it’s good for my back, but not today. It is supposed to rain all week so don’t know how much walking i’ll get in.
Hope your anxiety subsides and your touch aversion calms.

Re: Thursday Coffee and Chat-- 28th may 2026

hi @Cuddlebear my friend I'm doing fine thanks. I've been working on the assignments for my current TAFE course and I'm gonna be having an open-book end-of-unit assessment that's gonna occur next thursday for a unit in my bachelors degree I'm doing this trimester. There's been other things regarding NDIS and today's cost of living I've been thinking about and for the future as well but I don't really wanna get into that.

I'm also generally quite certain that counselling (just mental health counselling) is not really for me, but talking to a peer worker about my issues does work for me I find.

How have you been going?

Still coping with the withdrawals or is it getting better now? 😊

How are you @GezzaP today?

@Blackcloud Hello lovely how are you?

Im glad you are doing your TAFE assignments. I hope they going well. And I hope your exam goes well next week. Exams can be scary so I hope you are feeling good ablut it.

I hear you on the counselling I’m sorry it’s not suiting you. The peer support worker soubds good though. What do they provide that helps?

I too am worried about NDIS and cost of living.

Unfortunateky I’m still very unwell. It’s not going good. I’m struggling everyday. It’s hard. I’m really in panic attacks all day with anxiety and a lot of depression. There’s a lot of trauma. I can’t do anything and am in a shutdown still. Thank you for asking.

Re: Thursday Coffee and Chat-- 28th may 2026

@Cuddlebear the TAFE assignments I'm doing currently have been alright but I have found answering certain questions pretty difficult. a few weeks ago my teacher had to refer me to the disability study support team to get that support. I've had 2 weekly sessions with them (the disability study support assistant) so far and it's been going great!!! makes doing the TAFE assignments so much easier for me when i have assistance provided!

Honestly I'm not at all looking forward to the exam and that's what I really like about it being open-book because that means we can use any resources we've got during the exam that we can refer to. I feel like I might just do some of the practice exam questions to help me kinda prepare for it or something.

Well with a peer worker, it just feels a lot more validating and great for me overall when they share their own lived experiences with you without them asking you such questions that can throw me off, unlike some questions that a counsellor would ask. I also really value connection and just having a peer that can sit with you, so that's another thing too.

Oh by the way I've just applied for a role yesterday that an organisation I actively follow has just put out a few days ago. I got my support worker to go through my cover letter and resume with me yesterday morning to see if there was anything i needed to add, remove, edit from both of those documents before i submit the application. I'm glad that that is all done. What I like about this particular organisation is that instead of having a traditional job interviews, they provide an alternative for the recruitment process which is basically to get the applicants/candidates to do some sort of practical activity. And its an organisation whose values and perspectives strongly (100%) align with mine since it is an autistic related organisation. I applied for the admin assistant role. I do hope I can be contacted... Though at the same time I don't have much hopes in terms of being accepted into the role.

I will continue to send you a lot of strength and wishing you for better days when that time comes for you my friend ❤️

I’m ok thanks @creative_writer . Managed to get in a walk up to local shop, got slightly wet but it was only drizzle. Slept 7 hours. Had to fill in a form online this morning. I hate filling in forms especially on the computer, but it wasn’t too bad once I worked out how to get started. Need to clean up emails on my computer, but will start tomorrow morning when I’m awake and most energetic. I’m a morning person. Haven’t done much Spanish lessons today. Will try to do more in the afternoon. Supposed to be very windy and wet today but so far it’s ok:

How are you?

Re: Thursday Coffee and Chat-- 28th may 2026

@GezzaP sounds like a productive day. I was going to take a walk but it started raining, I did a home workout instead.

I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed. I was telling my regular GP how I got triggered from an appointment with another GP on Thursday. The other GP gave me a female medical test to do, but I didn’t do it because it felt too intrusive because of my ptsd. I couldn’t even go down the route of self-collection. I felt pretty overwhelmed since the appointment, like something reacted inside me. The GP didn’t say I had to do the test but I couldn’t tell her my trauma made it uncomfortable. It’s why I feel more anxious and my touch aversion has been worse. I was initially too scared to talk to my regular GP, I wasn’t sure how he would take it
