Newbie

Newbie

Hi, just a bit about me: now that I've typed that I actually don't know where to start..

I'm a single woman living alone with my tiny, naughty, spoilt dog.

I have battled with various demons on and off for quite a while. I'm looking to connect to give and receive support.

Now recovering from yucky surgery non-mental health related and keen to become involved in this forum.

I'm very keen to share hope and support where I can.

Bye for now.

Taali

Re: Newbie down

Thanks @Shaz51 .

I felt the psychological crash coming on. Pushed it away with all my strength. But that hollowness and total lack of purpose attacked me and threw into a spiral again.

Can't really find hope now.

FROZEN HERE

Hi @Taali 🫶

Just thought I would pop in and let you know how much I understand how overwhelming being in a freeze state can be. You are doing a wonderful job of reaching out, even when things feel heavy - let's take a moment to acknowledge this.

It sounds like your body is being flooded with some really big emotions and I can only imagine how vulnerable that must feel for you right now. Hope and purpose are always there for us, sometimes we just need a bit of extra support to reconnect to what that looks and feels like. 🥰

Perhaps looking at one thing that feels safe or meaningful for you in this moment could be helpful?

For example, is there a person, place, or thing that feels like warmth or comfort for you?

Can we try and connect to that together? 💕

Dear @AuntGlow @Shaz51

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I feel like such a failure

I'd rather be upset or angry than the screaming nothingness I have right now.

It's virtually impossible to believe that I was once a fully functional successful professional.

Right now it's all I can do to get out of my PJs and feed little Baby..

I almost resent "normal" people

Can't fathom my own crash.

I'm due to see my support worker tomorrow which seems an eternity away. Just one more person to let down. Might even cancel.

Hating myself enough. SORRY IF I HAVE WORRIED YOU, feeling like I'm grasping at straws

Re: Newbie down

What do you think this part of you who feels like they have failed needs most right now? @Taali

Sometimes gentle activation can help when we are feeling frozen. Is there any level of movement that would feel safe right now? Something like stretching, shaking, or even swaying?

I can hear you are coming to terms with the things that have shifted and changed in your world, and I can only imagine how confronting and painful this must feel for you.

Being able to get out of your bed and feed little baby right now sounds really positive, and I think celebrating your wins along the way is really important - you deserve to have your efforts acknowledged no matter the size.

Seeing your support worker sounds like it will be really helpful - what would you like to get out of your time with them tomorrow?

Please know that you can't let them down, they are there to meet you in all of your wonderful humanness. 🫶

Re: Newbie down

@Taali hey sweetheart, life gets overwhelming doesn't it? Like you I wonder what happened to the fully functioning "successful" person I used to be only a few years ago. I feel like I am rotting away.

I hope you do get some comfort and feel supported here on the forum.
I could say all kind of platitudes like it get's better, but that doesn't help me so I doubt it would you either.

Just knowing I got through the day is sometimes enough.

You're in my thoughts and prayers lovely, may these week feel a little lighter for you.

Hugs xo

@ENKELI

Thank you so very much for your response, you seem totally understand how it is to feel this way and especially that the "ONYAs, GO YOUs, IT'LL GET BETTERs" just don't help. So a huge thanks for that.

The forum is a valuable outlet for my woes and support from understanding mates like you, as is the community support nurse I see quite regularly.

Sending you lots of love and support on your journey. Hoping that you can find some peace soon.
