Hi! Photos are a great way to create a sense of peace and mindfulness. I get the same feeling with my art. Even something as simple as a coffee cup is helpful because it associates us with feelings of comfort and safety and happier times. It gives us the feeling of connection - something we are hard-wired for through our Vagus nerve. The content, in this context, is not nearly as important as the sharing of it and the connection and positive internal feelings it brings us.
I find my artwork helps me process past bulling and severe trauma experiences and also similar with taking photos. In a very visceral sense, sharing a photo also gives a sense of validation and self-worth - something we all secretly crave, and yet is often frowned upon by societal conditioning. For men in particular, this makes it confusing and more difficult to deal with things, because we are taught to "be a man" and handle everything ourselves. What this fails to account for is the fact that we all have a breaking point and that is just called being human. There is no shame in asking for help. Women will automatically talk to others because it is considered more acceptable. Regardless of your jangly bits below, getting other perspectives or even just a friendly, listening ear is of great benefit and should be encouraged.
Thank you for sharing this photo - I hope you had an enjoyable time at the coffee shop and best wishes.
