Do you ever touch rock bottom?

Do you ever touch rock bottom?

Hi Everyone,

sS

o I think I hit rock bottom again yesterday and into this morning. I thought I was stable but something happened at work which destabilised me greatly. I should be ok now but I still have some stressful things to accomplish this week. How do you bounce from rock bottom and rebuild yourself again?

Go for it! Sleep while you can! @carmine1809

I was up most of the night last night, so you can give me some of your sleep too 🙂

But then again, oversleeping can lead to issues in itself...

Do you go for walks much? How's your mum?

@Anonymouse1000 , how are you today?

I had about 20 people over at my place today. Some visitors were from overseas, so we invted others too. My sister did most of the cooking. I prepared things here and there. I'm just glad I can recuperate now from oversocialising!

I'm totally not a too-many-people person. I re-read your post from yesterday about being in a crowded space and managing okay. So at least you gave me courage 🙂

Thinking of you.

@tyme sounds like a fun party you had!! i rarely go for walks when i think about it. i understand it can do wonders but some of the walks i've gone so far in life i'm not sure if it's helping or maybe i'm doing it wrong hahahaha. mum is better, stable but very tired etc.

Hi @tyme

It was a hard day yesterday, there is a stomach bug in the house and I have to care for my son who is neurodivergant. I kept crashing because Im worried about a psych appointment on Wednesday. I dont think my psychiatrist is considering my pleas that the medication isnt working and that this depressive episode has been going since January... its a long time to be depressed and I feel like I dont have the capacity to wait any longer but I also am the primary income earner which means I cant afford to break.

I'm sorry you feel like you've touched rock bottom. It's always hard being there. Currently, I feel like all I'm ever doing is dredging the bottom. What gets me through most of the time is remembering that "this too shall pass". Sure, something else might replace it, but so what? There's always some small joy in the world to break it up; a small flower that blooms in the sameness that is rock bottom is a wonder, look at it for the blessing it is then carry on.

As in the walks haven't helped you mentally or physically @carmine1809 ? I don't want to assume anything!

I love walks along the beach, but unfortunately, I don't live close close to a beach here... so i just take the dog for a walk. I can also take the kids for a bike ride too. They love riding up and down the mounds of bark and mulch lol.

What have you been up to lately? It's super cold on my side.... only a few degrees!

Oh dear @Anonymouse1000 , I hear how hard it is. Do you have supports who can help with your son? It's a lot to take on in that you are also juggling work. Depression is HARD. I know that from my own experiences. I'm curious to undrstand why you feel you dr is not listening to your 'pleas'? Do they think the meds will work if you take it longer?

Please look after yourself mate.

@tyme physically always feels ok! but mentally i'm not too sure hahaha. i recently moved back home, so i miss my room mates dog so much, we used to go on walks most days especially in summer when the sun set so late 🙂 it's truly a delight to have animals in our lives!! up north is starting to get colder, but we're still quite very warm during the day and in the sun!
