Do you ever touch rock bottom?

Do you ever touch rock bottom?

Hi Everyone,

sS

o I think I hit rock bottom again yesterday and into this morning. I thought I was stable but something happened at work which destabilised me greatly. I should be ok now but I still have some stressful things to accomplish this week. How do you bounce from rock bottom and rebuild yourself again?

Hey mate @Anonymouse1000 ,

Sorry to hear things have hit hard.

Looking at the bright side, if you have hit rock bottom, you can't go down any further, right?

We're hear if you need an ear. The situation at work seems to have had a strong impact on you to have destabilised you so much.

Did you reach out for any support regarding it?

Re: Do you ever touch rock bottom?

i feel that a lot of the time recently, and i try to tell myself 'at least the road is only up from here!'. it's hard when you've been shaken up and of course life still moves ahead and doesn't stop for anyone. it's a blessing and a curse all at the same time so it's completely understandable if you feel like the ground below you is falling apart during this time. i think it's very important to be nice to yourself in these moments (easier said than done an i'm also working through this myself) but it does work wonders when you focus on things bit by bit rather than thinking far ahead (which is also again easier said than done). take it day by day and work through what you can. you're operating at your best and that's enough, and if you need to take a break or pull out from certain things, that's okay too. it's also important to highlight that you have the desire to bounce back, so it could be a wave that comes crashing, but so far you have survived all the previous waves and you're still here fighting for yourself. remember as well that you have to take care of yourself too. which all of this then leads to you rebuilding yourself, bigger and better 🙂

Thank you for your kind words. I know that I need to pull my socks up and get help but it seems like I never give myself the time to. Like kindness is something that happens when you are well...otherwise you dont feel like you are handling it ok..

Hey @Anonymouse1000 @carmine1809 ,

It sounds like we all have our own challenges. The challenges look different for each of us, but they are still challenges.

I'm glad we can support each other.

@Anonymouse1000 , how has your weekend been for you so far?

@carmine1809 , hope your mum is improving. How are you managing? Have you been able to practice some self-care? I know you mentioned how exhausting things are.

@tyme

Hi Tyme, it has been pretty good. I was out with the family today in a very public crowded place with little to no chemical help. Ordinarily I would have required some version of medication. It meant that I had some good time with the family.

I still have some challenges coming up this month which will very difficult but I think I might manage ok.

How has your weekend been?

Re: Do you ever touch rock bottom?

I've been flat out today @Anonymouse1000 . Just had a lot of things to do. I'll be ready for bed soon, eh?

Hope things improve from now on for you. I'm mindful you've been through a rough patch. I'm glad you can identify that you didn't need meds today while being out. It sounds like it's an accomplishment for you.
