Depressed with my situation, later 50s

Depressed with my situation, later 50s

Hi there people thx for having me. 1st post so l this is an ok place for depression as l couldn't find a depression section.

lt seems to me crazy especially at this stage but l'm just so damn stuck about my situation and just can not seem to be able to come up with a decision on what to do with it.

l didn't do well getting rid of my house but l did still also have a block of land in a small town. My ex and l bought it yrs back it was just suppose to be an investment but now because of the way things went with my house, it's looking like the best solution from here would be to just build something on the block. There's no debt on the block at all now and l do have small savings left that l could build a simple house with so financially it'd be ideal as l'd have no debt or mortgage.

Problem is a few things.

1stly, although l moved to regional area awhile back now, l grew up in the city but the town here at the block is tiny, no shops just a pub. Nearest decent town is 45k away.

The block does have a small cabin on it and l;ve been staying 6mths now supposedly figuring out whether l wanna build on it of not.

lt is a pretty block and spot and l'd have no debt if l just stayed here, where as not only don't l feel up to moving any more but l can't afford to now or to take on a new mortgage either after the house loss but somewhere better would be much much dearer and there'd be no way without one.

Trouble is, the town depresses the hell out of me especially at night every night l just sink again even if the day hasn't been too bad, sometimes even quite nice. Night comes round and down l go.

lt's just so damn small and away and at night there's just nothing except house lights on, that's it.

l mean if l had a choice l wouldn't choice to settle here never bought it back when for that at all, it's just the best solution though all round for sure. All round except that l just get so damn depressed out here.

So 6mths and l'm still absolutely nowhere about building something so l'm still just in the little cabin. Trouble with just doing it is, that if this went on and l just hated it here, l might not even be able to sell it and get my money back anyway and it still leaves the same problems above, with going somewhere better anyway.

lt's mad but l don't think l've ever been so stuck in my life.

Best to all.

mr

@tyme @Glisten ,

Well , l suppose that's one way to look at it.

But l dunno, dunno how else l could've done anything. On the sale, he'd signed, put a dep' that's really all they can do at that stage l guess.

l felt very decided on not staying and l really needed a break from the place and of it all. l am glad l took off but didn't need the whole mind warp of everything involved though on top of the last 6mths. Just thank God l didn't put a dep on anything l suppose right, just to add even more brain mush to the rest right.

@TAB Ah man, yeah just in the van.

Suppose l'll need to come up with a new plan though but yeah, spose l could just go on for now and maybe a new buyer comes along.

Think l'll just stay away for a few more wks first of all, try and get my bearings, don't feel like gong back.

Gday again to one and all, hope everyone has been doing ok.

Haven't been able to login again since last post so l've just read about now and then buttttt, tonight she is working again.

Not much goin on property and my situation wise , no new buyer's turned up as yet.

Me l just got back from staying over in a new area l was thinking about, just spending some time there really and seeing what l thought of it while the sale of this place was suppose to be settling, l'm back at the cabin now though a wk or so. Gotta mow it up and do some jobs seems t's back on the market,

Still hoping l might just wake up in love with the place one morning and just wanna bloody stay put again now and to hell with it all seems as sale fell through. ldbloodyk.

Option B, it's been really miserable cold and wet weather my daughter says other day, fkit why not just take off back upto the Murray for winter, hmmm, now there's another thought and to hell with it .

Did that last winter was bloody beautiful . Can't really do much else here anyway after l finish the jobs and it's not much point looking for a new place atm now either until/if another buyer comes along. Anyway shall see how l feel when l finish stuff here.

Been pushing wheel barrows up and down the hill and shovelling gravel and dirt all day fixing driveway, crikey, l need a massage 😎

Had words with the ex last wk - we've still been in touch last 18mths sometimes talk all day or night, but all that get's very emotionally confusing, weird and sometimes hurts too sooooo, l decided l'm better off opting out of the situation.

Anyone else ever been in that trap ?

l dunno, it's not only all of that but l reckon it stops up moving on too, yaknow. Just wasn't feeling too healthy but bloody hell, now it's like breaking up all over again, just what l need.

Anywayyyy, not much else been going on.

Weird too, been getting a lot of driveby's since l got back here too. Dunno how though it's only just gone back on market and haven't even handed out the address to anyone new as yet so it must be old buyers seeing t back on the market.

Gets on your nerves though your out here next minute another car's crawling past.

They have to hang U up the end to drive back and out again so they crawl past twice. They also go crawling along the side street 100mtrs off over to the side and look through from that angle too.

Re: Depressed with my situation, later 50s

why not go up the coast or Alice Springs, or Darwin ok Broome @mrmista ? do you have to be there to sell place ?

you missed all my sooking about septic tank, another tooth giving up the ghost etc etc lol not much else, ok bank balance going down and me handing out '00s to someone to delay them going homeless.

So you're stlll alive

Didnt run away from people you put yr stuff on. Perfectly reasonable to have to done. bought 5houses sold/for sale my side of tracks (houso-ville) so real estate com claims Ive near doubled my house value in last 2 years ok first one didnt go up at all, til people realised country was still cheaper than city and it was all over. Have a Melbourne bitter for me lol
