Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

This is a little project I did earlier this week, inspired by @Faith-and-Hope on one of the art threads, also @Appleblossom and Sherry, and some others on the Carers side.

The story "reads" left to right line by line as you would a book.

Some will "get it" some probably won't but nonetheless, it depicts my "black hole" story and everything in it is chosen or placed deliberately. It's supposed to be a side by side trilogy but in this format it's the three sequential pages so the pics in the collage can be seen.

It's a little scary posting it because it means something to me but well here it is anyhow.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Thank you to both of you lovely people @Former-Member and @Former-Member. Tooky I will definitely be tagging you, even if it's just to say hi and bring coffee (hope you don't mind and no need to reply ever ever). Listen to that intuition - it has served superwoman well.

Hope you both have a good night.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

@Former-Member - you just liked one of my comments on that thread. I'm wanting to say hi and see if you'd like to chat because, i don't know about you, but just seeing it sends me spinning and I can't imagine actually going through it. You might be totally ok though.

So are you ok? How are you going tonight? Here if you want to chat.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Not totally ok with it... but it irks me for different reasons than I think it effects you @Former-Member That's why I'd really like you to share how it affects you.

I really want to understand and maybe I can try to "get" what about it aggravates me so much in the process of us talking about it. But no pressure there, just that's what I'd like... I realise you might not be in any way wanting to talk about what effects you about it and that's quite ok.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

So you're stuck in figuring out what aggravates you about the diagnosis of BPD or misdiagnosis of it with your ex? @Former-Member?

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

There's heaps of reasons BPD bothers me. What might be relevant to this conversation is that it was used to mask abuse. While my 'symptoms' were being examined in detail, the person behind many of those symptoms was ignored and even given sympathy for how 'difficult' living with me might be @Former-Member. Does that make sense? Is that kind of relevant because I feel that maybe what's happened for you is it was also being used to mask abuse, but in a different way. I could be way off here though.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

@Former-Member@Former-Member - I too am struggling with the diagnosis of BDP excusing the behaviour of people who do horrible things.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

neither, I know fully my feelings about both of those. I've dealt with those Babushka dolls very early on ... pI had to to even start retty much, so as soon as I actually got on that road to recovery in my clipart story @Former-Member

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

now @soul and @Former-Member THAT is part of what I'm struggling with. And that thread throws it in my face. Really badly. I find that so hard.

In response to: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

@soul - this is seriously tricky to navigate. On one hand we have people being abused as being diagnosed with BPD and on the other we have people who are abusive being diagnosed with BPD. It's dangerous ground here.

In response to: Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

and people in mine and @soul's postion aren;t being listened to.. at least not in Australia. And that thread is a start display of that. You just have to follow the likes and it couldn't be more obvious.@Funshine. It is invalidating.
