Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

This is a little project I did earlier this week, inspired by @Faith-and-Hope on one of the art threads, also @Appleblossom and Sherry, and some others on the Carers side.

The story "reads" left to right line by line as you would a book.

Some will "get it" some probably won't but nonetheless, it depicts my "black hole" story and everything in it is chosen or placed deliberately. It's supposed to be a side by side trilogy but in this format it's the three sequential pages so the pics in the collage can be seen.

It's a little scary posting it because it means something to me but well here it is anyhow.

@Former-Member - I don't know you at all. You could be the person who I see when I walk my dog or the one behind me at the check out at Woolies. You could be living in another state or country. Regardless, I do think you have an incredible strength to have shared your story. You have survived this far and that's an achievement in itself.

You need to do what's right for you. Just remember what four young lads from Liverpool once sang "I get by with a little help from my friends" It's obvious that you have friends here. I wish you well whatever you decide.

@Former-Member - I just suck at emojis so imagine all the hearts and sunshiney pretties being thrown at you right now. I love the tooky that lives in the moment and would hate to think of you feeling limited. I will love seeing you pop in and out if you do and if I am around.

Bucketloads of emojis being sent your way from someone who has been moved by your strength and determination, and who respects and appreciates your experiences a lot, even if I can't completely understand or get them.

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

@Former-Member I just re read your other thread. I have to admit the reason I said I shouldn't have contributed was that I had self medicated both times. I wasn't really thinking straight. I've been hanging on the edge so much lately which isn't helping with clarity of thought. The thing that I just took from your BPD post was that you were looking for validation that his manipulation had nothing to do with BOD and I think that all got missed. I don't know but it sounds like his behaviour did go way beyond BPD although there are some tiny threads you could attach. I still strongly believe that no one can hide behind their diagnosis when it comes to abuse. I whole heartedly think there are sadly times when MI do cause harm but it's up to the person to deal with it. What you went through was pure psychological abuse. There is no way of reframing that. I very much would like you to see that there was never a competition for a winner or loser. In my eyes you will always be the winner for reclaiming you. I bet he still hasn't done anything towards meaningful. He is a life loser if he doesn't wake up and address his stuff whatever it really is. I'm not a psychiatrist and if I was I bet my diagnosis of him would differ to ten other psychiatrist but to me none of that seems important. It's you that's important, you that had to rebuild and you that did all that hard work to be the best tooky you can. As for your place here it's about giving and receiving support and sharing ideas and much of the time being validated for the way you feel. I'm really sorry if that hasn't happened. I hope this helps. As I said before you are the most important person here so please do what is best for you. 💜🤗

So sorry if that post still seems wobbly and all over the place @Former-Member. I just couldn't wait until I was feeling calm cos quite frankly that's not going to happen for a while 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:

and connection. The forum provides connection which you have managed to do in spades. But it's still up to you as to whether these things are helpful or not. 💜😳😘💐

That posts seems perfect @Former-Member. You have a lovely way with words, even if you feel they're wobbly at the moment.

Thank you @Former-Member. I'm afraid when they come from my heart they just flow out and I tend to hit post without thinking.....and then I over think them 😳 I hope you are travelling ok today. I wish I could be more present on the forum than I am. I'm finding it quite a challenge at the moment. I try to step in from time to time but it's hard sometimes. I'm glad you seem to be slowly finding more comfortable places on the forum. Wishing you all the best 💜🤗💐

Re: Tooky History: Clipart but potentially triggering

Heartfelt posts are great @Former-Member, but I understand overthinking things later. Add already feeling rubbish into that, and overthinking can spiral quickly, I find at least.

I sense from your posts how kind and compassionate you are and how much it would hurt to not be as able to share that around as maybe you'd like to or are used to, at the moment. I'm sure you've heard a bajillion times how important it is to only give what you are able while making sure there's enough for yourself too, and think we can all use a dose of that reminder sometimes. Things seem really hard for you so I'm wishing you all the best too

(flowers and sunshines your way)

@Former-Member you are absolutely right on point. Thankyou. 🙂 You need to have more confidence in yourself. You are sensitive and perceptive beyond what you give yourself credit for. Thanks so much.

💝

@Former-Member You get it, you think you don't but you very much get it. Thankyou too so much.

@Mazarita thankyou for your support, I am sorry I knew I had overlooked someone. Not because of anything else other than I'm just fuzzy atm... and ditto on that from me too 🙂
